I always liked movies based on true stories, because it helps me learn even more about American history. The movie was most interesting to me seeing as though it was something I had never really knew to much
In Mel Gibson’s version of Hamlet, Hamlet’s acting is outstanding because while watching the play we can see the effort and talent Gibson has put in the movie. Gibson knows what his lines are and he exactly knows what his actions are. His acting is so natural because while he was acting the audience can feel the pain he is suffering through. Another difference in both versions of the movie is; in Kenneth’s version it does not seem that the play is acted in the theatre, but it is done by professionals. Kenneth’s version is filmed as Hamlet family is very royal and rich; also the house is a mansion.
Additionally, this proved to be a successful literary strategy that helped the reader to set aside pre-existing judgements, and to instead empathize with both Lincoln and Davis’ stories. Secondly, the intricate details provided about Lincoln’s embalming and subsequent eighteen-day “death pageant” were incredibly interesting and a great addition to the story. Rather than skipping over the body preservation process, Swanson clearly researched the entire ordeal and presented it to the reader at an understandable level. He included fascinating details
This lens can be shot right into the sun and have no glare. The camera in this movie was almost constantly in motion. The choice of setting in this movie was very essential because it went well with the whole them of the movie including the musical score. Being that it was based in Mississippi gave the feeling of the movie a much great
James Newton Howard made and absolute amazing score for this movie. It goes very well with the movie. It has a European and World War II feel to it. In my opinion there is only one weakness. It is when there is a chase scene it has the typical chase music.
For example when Oberst says "Don't give me any of your lip black boy" Virgil is more harmonious when reacting. Virgil in the novel is also more modest then that of the movie. His arrogance and self image in the movie lead him to be demanding and react with greater force. For example when Virgil is done looking at the body the first time he hands a white man his coat to deal with, showing that his conceitedness leads him to act insistent. Also he deals with racism differently.
No longer can a government wage a war with disregard of the consequences, through the avenue of film the public are able to make their own voices and perceptions heard and broadcast to the masses. As with war itself, time and technology has played its part in the advancement of this medium as public perception has changed over the years, and the imagery has needed to become more graphic and poignant to portray the same messages as before. I have chosen to use two movies of completely different design and from two separate conflicts and times that I believe showed, in their own
Bowling for Columbine Reaction Paper Bowling for Columbine is a very controversial movie. Michael Moore tends to lean towards the controversial in his documentaries. The movie touched many sensitive subjects, the main one being Guns and everything related to guns. In this paper I will talk about what I thought about Michael Moore’s actions in the movie, the Columbine shooting, and my personal opinions about gun control. Michael Moore handled the documentary very well.
Quality is the way the director can incorporate the many layers of music, camera techniques, and style in film. The film must also present eloquent character development and create a mood that is appealing to the viewer. Also , the way the theme is displayed throughout the movie by means of camera styles and technique is essential to the overall feeling and understanding of the flick. The Godfather, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, is a very unconventional film about organized crime. However unconventional and strange the movie seems at first, it was a wonderful and engaging film to watch.
“The World’s Fastest Indian” (2005) is an insightful movie directed by the world renowned director, Roger Donaldson. A character I enjoyed in this film was Burt Munro. I enjoyed this character because of his high, uplifting spirit of determinat ion. Burt Munro is important because he reveals the ideas of ‘Manawanui (Perseverance),’ ‘Realising Your Dreams’ and ‘Overcoming Obstacles.’ These ideas are seen through the film techniques: dialogue, lighting and types of camera shots and angles. Burt Munro is a character I enjoyed because of his total dedication and wholeheartedness towards his dreams, living a day at a time.
