God created the heavens and the earth as stated in the first chapter, first verse of the book of Genesis, found in the Old Testament. Genesis 1:27 also states that we as human beings, were created in God’s own likeness by him. We as Christian people are fully devoted the to the origin explanation found in Genesis and a few other books of the bible. Identity is a tough subject for many people as we have been given this earthly body as one identity, and our soul could be considered another identity. Christians, in order to move on to Heaven, need to make the two as one while keeping in the image of God.
Reading Report #1 (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). Primeval Period (Genesis 1-11) Genesis Author: Moses Date: 1450-1410 B.C. (NIV 2) Purpose: Genesis lays the foundation for understanding the rest of the Bible. It highlights the relationship between God and His creation. It also gives us a very monotheistic view of God to oppose the idea of many gods or that there is no God.
In the Bible, there are 2 creation stories, Genesis 1 and Genesis 2. They both have different views on how the God is portrayed. In Genesis 1, God created the world in 6 days and on the 7th day, he rested. On the first day, he created the heaven and earth. He also created light which gave the world night and day.
In Genesis 2:7, gives more detail of the making of man and how he became a living being. Therefore taken from scripture God created man. The Christian/Biblical worldview of identity is given in Jeremiah 1:5, God knew who we were before he formed us. In Jeremiah 29:11, God has made a plan for everyone. The morals of an individual leads him/her on the path of good or evil.
In Genesis 2:15-17 God placed man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate, care for it and gave him everything in the garden free to eat except from the tree of knowledge of good and bad or he would die.Chapter II mentions the 4 rivers, Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel and Euphrates. Similarities between Genesis I and the Big Bang Theory The first similarity is that our universe did in fact have a beginning. The description of the Big Bang and the statement "God said, let there be light" are similar as the release of energy into the universe in the big bang. One big bang and one divine
Scripture is the grid through which believers view existence, truth, sin, salvation, ethics, and evil. This biblical worldview is based on God’s truth and the humanity and the purpose of God in our lives. The Natural World We see the natural world as being created by God and through his words. God has always shown who he was through the creation of himself and mankind. God was one that spoke into existence on everything he foreseen present or future.
(Heb. 6:1 faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. I would answer the Axiological question by saying, “God is the creator of the for universe.” Not only does he creates everything, he is everything. So that means because God is of value, we are of value too.We have to always keep God center. (Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other Gods me.)
The book of Genesis states that God created the world in six days with order and purpose. This order is conveyed by an overall systematic unfolding of Creation, phrases such as, “ It was evening, it was morning, the first day…” and so on. The Story of Creation implicates that God was a powerful and transcendent essence. He depicts his power because of his revolutionary conception of creating the world out of nothing. The Genesis reads, “And God said…” to each day of Creation, showing his supremacy.
Charles Darwin was famous for his controversial theory that animals evolved by means of natural selection. He produced a book about his theory, implicating that humans were not especially created, but had evolved. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/darwin_charles.shtml) Darwin developed his theory of natural selection in 1837. Before this, it was generally believed that every species was specially created by God, and could not be altered. Up until his voyage on the HMS Beagle, Darwin, like all others, believed in a traditional Biblical creation of all life forms.
Additionally, God reveals Himself to His creation through His Word (John 1:1-18). Through both general and special revelation, the character and nature of God is revealed to humanity. God is. God is omnipotent (Matthew 19:26), omniscient (1 Samuel 2:3), and omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:24 & Matthew 18:20). He was and is and always will be (Exodus 3:14).
