It was morning and I had just woken up, and the sun was like a yellow lemon shining on me. It seemed like a perfect day to go explore the forest. I hadn’t told anyone that I was going, since I thought it wouldn’t be dangerous. I put some clothes perfect to go exploring. There was a path to go to the forest, so I followed it so I wouldn’t get lost. The air felt so fresh, and the trees smelled like fresh cut grass. There were lots of birds singing and it felt like they were singing for me. This was the first time I felt free it was so peaceful. While I was walking I saw a bridge that led to somewhere deeper in the forest, but it was out of the path. I went towards the bridge, not knowing the risks it would cause. I started to hear thunders and I knew right away a thunderstorm was coming, and I would be in the middle of it. After a while I saw a wolf growling of hunger. I ran looking for somewhere to hide from the thunderstorm and the wolf. I saw a cave, I ran inside as fast as I could. I could hear the raindrops as they fell in the ground. My mouth tasted sour and I was hungry since I hadn’t eaten breakfast. I had come to take a walk, but a storm came, a wolf was running around looking for food and maybe now everyone was worried about me. I thought this was the end and I could remember when my mom told me, “be happy and do not worry about anything, but you have to be safe.” Then I heard men yelling, “Lucia”, “Lucia are you here?”. My family had called the cops to report I was missing. They followed my tracks through the path, but when the tracks stopped they imagined I had gone through the bridge. When I heard them calling my name I was so relieved. I was so happy I had forgotten to yell back at them, but then I realized I hadn’t so I yelled back saying, “Yes, I’m here inside this cave”.
