In the young and carefree, time has no affect on the mind of the child; however, at a certain age, one will realize that life is too short and that opportunities should be taken advantage of. A.E. Housman's "Loveliest of Trees” teaches this life-changing lesson. With rhetorical devices, word choices, and end rhymes embedded in this poem, Housman is able to successfully communicate in his poem that life is short and a person should live his/her life full of his/her favorite sights. In the first stanza, the speaker describes a beautiful and serene scene that he is enjoying while taking a walk through the forest.
Doing this project has opened my eyes up to a county in Pennsylvania called Armstrong County. I had never even heard of the name, let alone know what kinds of things are there. I noticed that the county has a lot of nature sittings. That is the main reason why I choose this county. It looked very alive with all the colorful leaves.
I would love to travel to Kansas and snap photos of a tornado forming a funnel cloud all the way to a full blown mile wide tunnel of wind throwing debris from the ground to the sky. Capturing all the devastation it left behind. A hurricane (in black and white) would be awesome to photograph as well. The seas as they change with growing waves, and the wind tearing the street signs out of the ground, rooftops being ripped off of homes and businesses. Yes it is devastating but it also is emotional and I incorporate photographic art with emotion.

As they walk back to the truck Kenny is so frustrated about their unsuccessful hunting trip, he shoots a fencepost, a tree and the house owners’ dog. The mountains sent back his whistle and his shout, but no dog was to be seen. Rip decided to return to the scene of the last evening’s party. “If I meet any of those men,” he said to himself, “ I’ll demand my dog and gun.” As he stood up to walk, he found that his legs seemed stiffer than usual; he felt pains in his legs and his back. “ These mountain beds are not good for the health,” thought Rip. “ If this adventure puts me to bed sick, I shall hear nothing pleasant from Dame Van
“Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!”(152) This quote show the pure violence that ran though the boy’s blood, without second thought they jumped to kill Simon. This fear of the beast and what it truly was, was what lead them to brutally kill Simon. They were afraid of something they that was altogether foreign to them, the way it looked, what it ate, and how it acted.
My mom told me that the mailman ran over my head. He leaned down in his mail truck to pick up his OREO cookie he had dropped and didn’t see me on the ground. Of course I should not have been riding my bike in the street because I was grounded
In the beginning of the novel Cather use weather to describe that calmness that Burden was feeling after being in Nebraska for a little while. For example, Sitting in his grandmother's garden, Jim observes: "There in the sheltered draw-bottom the wind did not blow very hard, but I could hear it singing its humming tune up on the level, and I could see the tall grasses wave. The earth was warm under me, and warm as I crumbled it through my fingers" (Cather 42). Cather uses very relaxing,
On October 23, 1989 Rosey was in the living room reading a book, when all of a sudden she heard a scream from outside. She ran as fast as she could, and to her surprise she found her parents in a puddle of blood with scratch marks on their faces. Her parents had been murder by a tall thin man all dressed in black. Rosey was terrified when she saw the man that had just killed her parents. So she got up and ran as fast as her little legs could carry her, she didn't know where she was going but she had to get away.
