I agree that a professional engineer should be allowed to practice as consultants as well as contractor at the same time. Firstly let’s define a consultant and contractor. A consultant is getting paid by giving expert knowledge to others while a contractor provides a specialist services in return for a fee. Being a consultant and a contractor alone is a good choice because it tends to have a better financial control. A professional engineer with both skills is masters of their own economics fate. They are able to set their own prices in deciding a certain project and eventually this create more chances to make higher profits. Next, a double skilled engineer is required to pay lower income taxes when compared to separated consultant and contractor. Moreover, we can polish our overall skills as a professional engineer as well as consultants and contractors. This is very important because engineers are good at multitasking. We will be able to earn a living and expand our knowledge as well as earning experiences while finding for permanent position. As we taking the job scope of different job, we will be exposed to different working environments and situations that can increase our capability of overall skills. We tend to have wider knowledge and can see bigger picture when planning a project. Brilliant ideas can be visualized and be able to carry out realistically. Besides, we have the power and authority if we have all the knowledge in engineering, consultants and contractors. This is vital because we will decide what we want. We may choose the job scope as well as the time of working. This includes we are free to work for any companies we wished to. Next, if given in an industry, we are authorized to evaluate on the result of the end product and not the process used to produce the product.
