A Permanent Solution For A Temporary Problem Imagine yourself as a sixteen year old, waking up with the anxiety of having the thought of going to school, knowing that you'll have to go through another day of bullying and the only way to relief the pain is by harming yourself with a razor and having the thought that suicide is the only way to escape the pain. Sadly, this is what a lot of teenagers goes through today on a daily basis. Suicide is a major threat amongst teenagers of our generation today due to infliction of self harm, depression, and many forms of bullying. Suicide is the intentional taking of one's own life and is a issue that should be addressed as quickly as possible. It has detrimental effect on today's youth. Teenage suicide is caused from mental or social impacts that damage the individual in a way that the person believes that they would be better off dead. It's common among teens around the ages of fifteen to nineteen years of age. Many teenagers who contemplate about suicide believe that it's the only solution they have to escape their problems. But suicide should not be their only solution to escaped from everything. Suicide is a choice that teenagers choose if any other forms of self harm does not satisfy the person. Some individuals that self harm may go on to complete a suicide attempt. (“Misconceptions” par. 1) Self-harm is a way of expressing and dealing with deep distress and emotional pain. (“Cutting” par. 2) People say that people who cut themselves are trying to get attention. The painful truth is that people who self-harm generally do so in secret. (“Cutting” par. 6) They aren’t trying to manipulate others or draw attention to themselves.
