Gattaca was the best in terms of entertainment. It always kept me thinking about what is going to happen next. It had many twist in the plot that surprised me. The technology that was shown in the movie was very interesting to. Also, I enjoyed the entertainment from the character in the movie, Eugene, who a handicap that was virtually perfect.
This scene was also a great scene because Dally’s character finally showed his true colors, and it was illustrated as well as it was in the book, possibly even better. Another scene that Matt Dillion did admirably in was his death scene. He did very well in actually looking like he was about to die; the crawling and the painful expression were very realistic. In conclusion, Dally’s character was represented very well. The film The Outsiders has three main heroes; Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, and Matt Dillon.
I always liked movies based on true stories, because it helps me learn even more about American history. The movie was most interesting to me seeing as though it was something I had never really knew to much
Music- The music fits into the film really well, because it is a lot of Mysterious and intense music that makes you wonder what is going to happen next. It keeps you into the movie and doesn't let you get distracted. Pacing and Organization- This movie flows very well for the most part, they do not go to fast or too slow. Writing- The story and the plot and the dialogue is very intense the beginning of the movie Summary- The joker is trying to take over Gotham with his villains and it’s up to Bruce Wayne (Batman) to stop him. Opinion- In my opionion this was a intense but good movie.
I personally think all of the use of technology was effective because they had so many resources and made some real breakthroughs in investigative technology. The general investigation methods were generally good because through searching his house they found the body. However they may have been a bit too upfront with Hawley which gave him the chance to flee which show a lack of effectiveness. The main improvement for me though was in the organisation of the police, since the JTR cases they had earned a lot respect from the public due to the improvement in organisation making them look stronger which I think was vital in this case. So overall I think the investigation into the Crippen murders was very effective, because even though there were a few mistakes ultimately they made up for them and showed real progress to catch
For example he was stuck in a different reality and he knew what to do and never panicked, and eventually got out because of his smarts. Crash was the best movie because the writing could be related to life very easily for certain types of people. The acting in the movie was also incredible. The class most likely agrees with me because of how real the acting was. The movie was nominated for many awards proving how great it was.
I enjoyed the casting choices because the actors and scenery joined to convey a part of the movies theme. It discussed issues that were amenable. As stated in our text by Edward G. Robinson, “an audience identifies with the actors of flesh and blood and heartbeat, as no reader or beholder can identify with even the most artful paragraphs in books or the most inspiring paintings. There, says the watcher, but for some small difference in time or costume or inflections or gait, go I …. And so, the actor becomes a catalyst; he or she brings ignition that spark in every human being that longs for the miracle of transformation”.
Our understanding of ourselves and our world can be challenged by powerful images introduced in distinctly visual texts, however the images themselves may be meaningless if not supported by the ideas behind them. The combination of the strong images supported by simple or complex ideas are what make the images powerful and possible to provoke our thinking. This is heavily evident in both the 1998 German crime thriller film ‘Run Lola Run’ directed and written by Tom Tykwer, along with a movie I love ‘The Matrix’, which is a 1999 American/Australian science fiction action film directed by The Wachowski Brothers. I chose the Matrix because it is a well know and well-loved movie that really depicts the ideas of time and chance just like Run Lola Run. It is clear that film as a text type gives an author specific ability to enhance their ideas and themes through a range of visual techniques, whether the film be set in 1998 depicting a fiery German woman on a desperate dash to save the life of her lover, or over 200 years later showing the human race ensnared in a digital prison.
Three Day Road I found the novel Three Day Road very interesting and enjoyed it once I got into it, I found that the way it was plotted was very clever as it kept me wanting to read more and find out the ending. I enjoyed the imagery and at times it was so descriptive that you felt like you were watching it happen instead of reading it for instance when Xavier said “[…] then drag Elijah back to where we came from, bullets splattering in the mud around us like hail-stones, their mortars popping and exploding” (pg 149). I found this quote stuck with me as it gave me an idea of the panic there must have been at that time, and made me wonder what they were thinking and what was going through their heads. I also liked the style of writing that was used although it could be confusing at times, I liked how they referred to years as ‘winters’, as they used that to count how old they were. I was also confused a couple of times throughout the book as it tended to be a bit jumpy, moving from one time period, to a flashback and then back to the original time period.
Chapter 28 through 29 is a great chapter if readers love scenarios that leaves them outraged. The thrill of these 2 chapters gives readers an amazing adrenaline rush that makes it much interesting. Horrifying scenes are always the best! Finally, the last 2 chapters of To Kill A Mockingbird was overwhelming/peaceful. After all the chaos that happened throughout the book, the end made it all much better.
