And so, the actor becomes a catalyst; he or she brings ignition that spark in every human being that longs for the miracle of transformation”. The contribution is so important, because the audience relates to the human ingredient. I enjoyed watching the main character played by Halle Berry pull the audience in from scene one by her true attitudes and emotions of this drama genre. Halle Berry, became the character, she made me believe
Having a hard life isn’t going to matter the day we get to be with the Lord. Why should we spend what little infinity we have on Earth being sad or depressed? We should not. This is why we should be optimistic- why it is a priority- because without it, we would spend our whole lives living in constant fear, and to me, that is no way to live. Living your life in fear and
It provokes the thoughts that we know as normal, by using undistinguishable characters and objects, making us question what Matthew Barney was trying to express. The way Matthew Barney applies his scenes is very different from the more modern videos or movies we have today. I noticed that he used very long scene takes with a specific tune or music that accompanies each of the scenes which I did not like as it made the video feel very dull and stimulating. However, I liked how he kept emphasizing on his theme and what he wanted to deal with. I referenced from the other films and noticed that he also uses the capsule shape of the field emblem quite a lot not as the logo but things like the area, a window, etcetera.
I listen to music to enjoy the way it sounds. I listen to escape the daily annoyances and stresses of life and I also listen to music in an analytical way when I DJ. All three examples here target the sensuous plane, the expressive plane, and the sheerly musical plane. Now, some may say that listening does not fall into these planes at all, or that there are more planes to listening than the ones listed above. The argument is not about whether or not there
Dehumanizing and Rehumanizing of Dexter When most people think of cinema today, the immediate overall picture that comes to mind is that of moving images, audio-visual effects and gimmickry of an unprecedented magnitude in human history. Missing, however, is the coherence of storytelling, of vital emotional output — genuine sentiment — and the essences that inform, that regulate human existence. Even so, a great number of people enjoy cinema for its escapist quality, their sole demand being to become at once removed from the Herculean task of having to bear too much reality. As a result, the average film operates on an entertainment level, one that is more accessible to a mass audience than perhaps any other medium. This is important; however, if cinema pretends to communicate any worthwhile truths about the human condition.
The Odyssey has been inspirational in many aspects of our lives, but they can be narrowed down into 2 categories; entertainment and science. One of the more obvious inspirations the odyssey has had on our society is its role in entertainment. Movies, Music, Art and Books, yes, books are considered entertainment. In Hollywood movies and music the Odyssey can be found all the time. In the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Moore is degrading most Americans for having an interest and knowledge of the entertainment part of the nation. Not every person in our nation is interested in just US History, political views and events, Wall Street and culture; they are interested in many different topics. I agree with Moore in the fact that people are generally more interested in watching ESPN than the nightly news. They would choose a sports magazine subscription over a business or art
Dreams destroy expected minds and give off a new, discouraged outlook on life. Dreams are useless and distrustful to hold on to; therefore reality comes into place
Once dreams are abandoned, happiness is impossible to achieve, leaving a person trapped in a cycle of misery. As evidenced by the attitudes of both Crookes and George, hopes and ambitions are not about feasible plans, but instead about discovering a way to pull through the depression, even if it’s just deceiving the mind with fantasies that may not come true. Upon the realization that these dreams will indeed not happen, misery and dissatisfaction is the only thing left. Crookes’ incapability to enter a world of hope, leads him into a bitter life lacking the thrill of living. Throughout the story, dreams seem to be infectious and even Crookes who Steinbeck portrays as the always negative pessimistic stable buck allows himself to believe.
We simply suffered through each day, together, but feeling terribly alone” he is illustrating how fear can become paralyzing (par. 2). This is a good example of how being unable to acknowledge the imperfections of life restricts ones ability to live their lives. This is not to say that in order to survive one must have a cynical outlook on life, but rather in order to be happy one must understand that hardships are a part of
