Lopez Ms. Flemming ENG 3U1 Mon, Sept 17, 2012 A Life Changing Party I’ve always thought to myself that my parents are overprotective and want to prevent me from having fun. I found out that was not the case. Throughout the course of my life, I was not allowed to go to certain places because I was told it would only lead to trouble. A house party had been scheduled and the majority of my friends were to attend. I simply knew I couldn’t miss it; not this time. I was to make sure that I attended this party, as it was the last piece of fun I would’ve had before my summer vacation was over. I asked my parents if they would let me go, but the answer was “no”. They explained to me what happens at those types of parties, but I had no interest in their sayings, I just wanted to go. I continued to ask, until finally it happened. I was given permission to go to the party on the circumstance that I provided my parents with all the details. I simply explained to them that there are no worries, it is a safe party, nothing will happen; no details were given. It was not until the end of that night that I learned a valuable lesson, “ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU’RE PARENTS.” It was party time; my friends and I were to meet up at the bus terminal. Once we all met up, we waited for the bus, it came, and we were on our way. It took about forty- five minutes to arrive and once we had arrived, the party had already started. We were all hanging around trying to have a good time, but as time passed, more and more people came. Two hours into the party, things started to get ugly.
