A Lesson from My Father My father was the person who tough me to be the person who I am now. He told me one day “The first step to getting the things you want is to decide what you want”. We can compare the life with a trip on a train. Through live, many people travel in the same train, some of those take a short trip with us, others travel long distances, but there are some people who are in the same trip for ever. My father was an example of loving, persistent and intelligent person and he is one of those that will be traveling eternally with me. Now I put to work the attitudes I learned from him to overcome the obstacles that can be present when I want to realize my goals. First of all, an important characteristic to overcome obstacles is love. Love is the force that moves the world. The responsibility of taking care of a family by replacing the role of the father at a young age is a symbol of love. The action above teaches people that when they love they can fight problems no matter how big they are. Love is also an act of faith for families and friends. It helps people find solutions too many challenges. The strength people find in love holds them together. In result it makes them stronger for their obstacles. In addition to love, another characteristic to overcome obstacles is the act of being persistent. As we recall the words of my father, the key is to decide what you want and not stop until you accomplish this. Hard work is necessary to achieve your goals. Every day may not be as pleasant as we Garcia 2 want, but to be successful in life, we have to make a hard effort to get what we want. No matter what the problems are, if you take the time to do it you will be triumphant in what you want.
