It was going to my future. I’m now volunteering at Tempe St. Lukes Hospital and devoting my time not only to marching band, but my career as a Laboratory Medical Technologist. When I Graduate I want to audition for the Marine Corps Band, where they will pay my tuition to Yale where I will study Medical Technology. Hopefully that’s not all. I want to help people who are in desperate need for medical needs, like in Africa.
Stories like that excite me, because for those who know me, know that the number one thing in which I am passionate about and excel, is working with little children. Becoming a pediatric nurse is my passion and something that I can see myself doing for the next 30 years. I would love to be able to go to college and come out debt free, but the fact that my family makes less than thirty thousand dollars a year, makes that likelihood very slim, if not impossible. This is why I am asking for your help with this scholarship. Providing me with this scholarship money will not only help me get through my schooling now, but it will also give the world, one more nurse who can be an angel to a sick child, like my cousin Vincent.
Registered Nurse Do you remember being a child and constantly being asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Well I was the kid that always gave a different answer every time. I was always undecided regarding the career that I wanted to pursue. As I got older I realized that I wanted to have a career in the medical field. Being a nurse interests me because it requires the study of the human body, it is respected and because I find fulfillment in being able to help those who are in need. Once I started researching a career in nursing I realized that there were a lot more types of nurses then I had originally imagined.
Emergency Medical Technicians McKenzie Howe English 11 Ms. Sisk November 22, 2013 Hello 911 what is your emergency? Although the Emergency Medical Technician is not a newly found profession people still work hard to educate themselves for the responsibility to help provide critical care to patients. Talking about the history, education, responsibilities, and caring for patients will show how being an EMT is an exciting job. EMT’s can be traced back as far as the Civil War era. In 1865 New York City advertised a thirty second response time and provided a surgeon and a quart of brandy for their patients After the Civil, war EMT’s were equipped with radios to better serve the community and provide better and faster care for people
The financial conditions of my home did not allow me to go for a bachelor’s degree at that time as it was very expensive as we all were in nursing school at the same time. So I decided to go for my Associate Degree first and then move on. Marriage, relocation to USA, kids and so forth and on, pushed my BSN degree this far. Although being a nursing student was a bit of a challenge, the strong determination in my mind pulled me through the course .I loved the neuro- surgical /trauma ICU the best during my clinical rotations. So soon after my graduation, the hospital gave me the choice to decide where I would like to work and I decided to go for neurosurgery.
I came to Chestnut Grove today to talk to you about maturity. I matured a lot when the doctors told me that I might have soft tissue sarcoma which is a type of cancer that affects the bone, joints, and soft tissue. I learned to appreciate my family more because if it wasn’t for them I would not have been able to do much around the house. My mom and dad continued to work twelve hour shifts every day and still make it back in time for my appointments at Wake Forest Baptist hospital which is all the way in Winston Salem and cancer visits are not cheap so they also had to give up a lot of money for that. My brother was really little at the time but he still did his best to help me with anything I needed, like getting me a drink or if I left something in my room he would go get it so I
First of all, I am in light that colleges and universities should be preparing students for the workforce. This is because, character building education and life skills, should be taught at an early stage of education, which is the school. In colleges and universities, the students have become young adults and develop their own way of thinking. It is the role of colleges and universities to teach the students the skills required in their field for the workforce. During college and universities, students have opted the subject that they would like to pursue in their career.
Often small hospitals get use to the way their work flows and since there were no huge problems, none of the staff felt it needed to be addressed. Once staff saw the positive outcomes and heard from our community patients that they loved the new progress, the staff embraced the change. Our breastfeeding rate went from 60% to 71% in 6 months. Even the most argumentative staff members stated it was hard to dispute all the positives. Ultimately it was patients we served that dictated the change but it was the nurses that allowed and help facilitate the growth of our
Growing up I was taught to give more than I receive. I enjoyed doing community service. It was the first time I was exposed to needy children, I had wanted to become a doctor indefinitely. Knowing that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, I had registered to become a volunteer at the local Sharp hospital. This was a huge step into becoming more closely involved wtih the surroundings I would experience once I am through with medical school.
She made it work as a single parent raising both my brother and I after my parents’ divorce. I realized that without her getting an education or getting licensed to be a nurse, our life would not have been as fortunate as it was. We were not rolling in the money, but we were not in desperate need of it either. My father, being a cop, was able to afford child support every month to assure care and provision for his children. If he would not have gone to police academy, he would not have been able to afford to pay child support.
