A Family Thing All of us have or need our families at some point of our lives. Family is the people in your life who are related to you by blood, marriage, or choice. You can depend on them whenever you want. In Richard Pearce’s movie A Family Thing, the family is broken up and facing a long story to find out the truth who Earls, brother is after Carrie, passed away. Families will always be there for you, and have place for you in their heart. In a family there will always be a person to support you, look out for you, and accept you for who you are. In this case it was Aunt T, who lives with Ray. Aunt T was a great woman. She knew everything about Ray’s family and continued on with life without looking back or trying to make changes in her or Ray’s life. Although Aunt T couldn’t see Earl, she knew that was, Earl her nephew and accepted him into the house. She wanted Earl, and Ray, to get along and know that they are brothers. There will always be a person like, Aunt T in every family. In my family it would be my grandma. She would always give great advice and accept you, for who you are. In the movie, Earl defined “family” as a great part of his life, but after he read the note, Earl started to change and accept Ray as his brother. Earl was a great family person back home in Arkansas. He would take of the family and also the store. Earl and Ray start establishing a bond together with the help of, Aunt T. All of us have different views, like Earl, I would describe “family,” as the people in your life everyday who are always there for you and always want you to be happy. A family is what we all should rely on when you through struggles, just like Ray and Earl. There were many similarities and differences between the two families. They both lived in different cities. Chicago was more up-to-date. There were a lot of buildings, jobs, people, and some gangs.
