I tried to get conscientious objector status but my first sergeant told me he couldn't find the forms to apply and he didn't feel like looking for them. I didn't know about conscientious objector status until about a month before I got orders and that was when I first tried to do it. Shortly after that, I got orders, so I never really got a chance to apply for it. Leaving was kind of like a spur of the moment thing. It was my only option other than live underground in the United States and be running for the rest of my life or go to Canada.
My take from this movie? Fast food is of course VERY BAD for you but you have that choice not to eat it! Its not the fast food that makes you fat, it is the people that choose to eat it that makes them fat. It took me several years to communicate to other people because of the fear they might laugh at me. While I am in school I got a job as a dietary aide position, it doesn’t pay much because it’s unskilled jobs. I worked there for about three to five years. I was hired at McDonald way back, and after a month’s I got fire because I did not speaking English. It took me a while before I got myself used to this country.

I knew I did not want to be working in construction my entire life so I made a decision to pursue my Associates degree from the University of Phoenix. I had attended a community college in my area while working fulltime and was able to transfer about 30 credits towards my Associates degree at the University of Phoenix. The process started when I received a phone call while on lunch break from a University of Phoenix.
I really did not think I could finish school. Both my parents and my sibling did not finish school. At the age of 38, I did get my high school diploma. It took me three years but I did it. Therefore, I had to make another big choice and that was to go to college and get a degree.
