A Day in the life of Alex Sander Alex Sander is a 32 years old with MBA degree from MIT. He is considered to be the newest and youngest product manager in the Toiletries Division of Landon Care Products, Inc., a cosmetics products company. In just over one year with Landon he had successfully rebranded two national skin care products. Currently, he is busy preparing for a new Nourish product launch which he sees as the most challenging marketing assignment he has had so far. Concurrently, he is getting his first 360d performance review from his boss which he believes is a waste of time. The 360d is basically an evaluation process based on feedback from supervisors, peers, direct reports and customers. Although Alex happened to be a talented, hardworking and goal oriented person but as a manger he seems to have some negative behavioral issues and lack leadership skills that will hinder his career development with Landon. Alex first weakness is primarily center on leadership. While he is extremely bright and hard-working, he appears to lack essential leadership skills needed to manage people. Alex needs to get involved in getting to know people better in order to be able to guide his team in achieving common goals rather than just his own personal ones. He needs to improve his leadership style and learn to motivate his subordinates and give them the credit they deserve in order to get the work done. He tends to micro-manage his people and get involved in every step of the work while he should learn how to delegate and motivate other to excel. He lacks the ability of working together with other people as a team. Alex second weakness is his negative attitude. He is over-confidant and seems to know everything better than everyone else.
