We are told that the smell of the hospital is very strong and overpowering and everyone who has been to a hospital knows it is a smell of a sterile environment. This makes the first line very relatable “The Hospital smell combs my nostrils as they bobbing along green and yellow corridors” This is a light-hearted, unusual choice of words, as you wouldn’t expect nostrils to be combed. This is an effective use of personification. The writer then goes on to tell us that they go bobbing along green and yellow corridors creating imagery of the hospital and helps us imagine what he is seeing. The poet then tells us that an unwell or dead person is familiarly taken past him before disappearing into the lift.
I worked nights, which meant 9pm to 7am, but the girls knew i had kids at home, and so they would let me clock off early and head home. I don't know how i made it home most nights, bleary eyed and completely exhausted at 3 or 4 am. Only to wake at 6:30 and get the kids off to

In an instance of foreshadowing, she thinking, “Oh well, whatever goes over the Devil’s back, is got to come under his belly”(39) which means that she knows eventually Skyes will get what’s coming to him. Delia sets out to do her washing and passes by a group of men sitting at a store. The tone and focus of “Sweat” by Zora Neale Hurston changes for a while as the men comment on how pretty Delia used to be and how it’s such a shame that she’s beaten so often and lost her good looks. They talk about Syke’s behavior with the Bertha woman and generally frown upon him, with one saying, “There oughter be a law about him… He ain’t fit tuh carry guts tuh a bear.”(31) Clearly the whole town seems to have a negative reaction against Sykes. On her way back, Delia sees Sykes out front of Bertha’s telling her that he will buy her whatever she wants.

They were all fantasized with how good my project board looked, how artistic I made everything and how visual it was the only problem that came to me was the question “What is Hollister Co.?” These judges were kind of old ladies they would probably have no idea or never shopped or seen this store at the mall before, but since I am an avid customer that shops there I had no problems explaining to them what the store was and what it was like. So then I continued to lead right on into the start of my project I was flowing pretty well and having a good time with these ladies. Once my 20 minutes was almost over I wrapped it up and said “goodbye, have a nice day.” Phew that was finally over but I think I did a good job so now I’d have to kill time till after noon so I can get to see how my results came out and see what I placed. So I went and placed my stuff in our class corner so I didn’t have to carry arm loads of stuff around, then I went to
Showing you that everyday people like yourself, or most Americans, that fun does happen at work or it can happen at work. It does not show some celebrity doing things that regular people cannot. That would make the commercial unrealistic. The commercial give you a real setting with regular office people. It entertains you by showing a normal office environment which might seem boring with people that are all about work and no play and twisting it into funny a situation.
The owner thinks she’s fun so he lets her hang around all the time. The crusty old men behind the counter show her their tattoos while telling her about their snotty kids. She laughs to be polite but rolls her eyes in my direction after every bad joke. Anytime she walks past me I want to reach out and touch her long silky hair. She smells like soap.
But don’t fret, I do not find my entrapment boring; I happily spend my days looking down on the human race. Studying them, contemplating why they buy what they buy, and why they act as they act. It was on such a day that the natural order of things were disrupted by a number of complaints and discrepancy’s made by some objects that I had previously thought to have been my friends. Chapter One: “Appearances” The sound of soft crying echoed through the hallways early that afternoon. Being concerned (as I am such a compassionate being), I rushed to find its source; I was shocked to find that it was my good friend Suave.
Very easily, I imagine. Your vision is often colored by the events of your day. You wake up in the arms of the girl you love, walk out into the street and all around you see the beauty that reminds you of the one you woke up with. Then you walk into the editors office, certain he will love the masterpiece you poured all your hope into and he shakes your hand and gives you a hearty “Try again buster. Maybe next time you will get it right.” Your dreams are dashed and all you can feel is anger and pain.
