Below is an essay on "A Curfew" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

Nowadays, teens have access to a lot of things due to new technology. Such this

as drugs and alcohol can lead teenagers up to very bad situations. I believe that there

should be a legal curfew for young adults to keep them safe and out of trouble.

If teens are given at weekend curfew of midnight they are less like to get in

trouble versus a curfew of 3 a.m. By trouble I mean the illegal use of drugs and minors

using alcohol. These could lead to trespassing or vandalism. Teenagers are influenced

to do this by their peers, but I also think it’s because they are given too much freedom.

When you give your teenager a curfew of 2 or 3 a.m. and you have no idea where they

are, who they’re with, or what they’re doing they could be doing drugs or consuming

alcohol. Most accidents today are from young adults either under the influence or

texting; by giving them a curfew you know that they will be home safe.

By giving teens a curfew you are keeping them and others safe. Most abductions

occur in the early morning or very late at night. They shouldn’t be wandering the streets

at one in the morning; they should be safe at home. Crazy drivers come out in the wee

hours of the morning; young adults driving/walking at this time can be seriously hurt if

involved in an accident. These kids are the future. We need to treat all of them like our

own children and keep them safe.

In conclusion, a weekday curfew of 10 p.m. and a midnight weekend curfew

benefits everyone. A curfew keeps kids away from alcohol and drugs, getting them out

of trouble with alcohol and drug addiction. It also keeps them safe from kidnapping and

car accidents. Curfews set limits and expectations; it can also help teens in the future.

Even if your teenager doesn’t appreciate it now, they will later.
