At the middle of the novel Mattie and Ethan expressed their love for each other, well, at least Ethan did. He kissed her and told her about his feelings. By the end of the novel they were both in love and about to escape with each other. Ethan was hesitating about doing it because Zeena was in a bad condition; he was thoughtful and felt a little guilty. They still wanted to spend the rest of their lives together but that was not possible because of Zeena, for she needed a better girl to take care of her.

The use of alliteration in ‘Sonnet 43’, confirms that the poem was written for Browning’s lover. The repetition of “I love thee...” Shows it’s a personal poem for her true love. However, ‘Valentine’ could be interpreted as an open poem to allow the readers to understand the experiences Duffy has faced. The use of “...we are, for as long as we are.” (Line 16 and 17) Shows that Duffy is inviting her readers into the poem to help reflect upon how she feels.
This shows that although Daisy loved him she chose her family over him even though she wasn’t very happy with the decision. For many people money is an important aspect of life. Daisy found money and social status very important in order to keep her somewhat ‘happy’ by getting anything she wanted. Tom Buchanan gave Daisy lots of material things in order to do this. For example of page 74, it quotes that Daisy receives ‘a string on pearls’ the day before her wedding to Tom but also on the same say she also get a letter from her former lover Gatsby, gets drunk after reading it and has a moment where she hesitates about marrying Tom but after she sobers up she ‘squeezed it up in a wet ball……And walked out of the room, the pearls around her neck and the incident was over’ as it also quotes on pages 74 and 75.
She is connected to the chrysanthemums. “ You can feel how it is”(691). “They never make a mistake”( 691). “They’re with the plant”(691). He starts talking about the flowers and how beautiful they are, and this makes Elisa feel beautiful and valued.
The fact that it’s described as portentous is symbolising the importance of what is about to become for the married couple this seems ironic has Daisy and Tom have not valued they’re marriage so far yet it is still a serious relationship that is not easily broken. The wedding march may symbolise the re-birth of Daisy and Tom’s marriage. Fitzgerald could be using this symbolism as a forewarning for the future; to subtly hint to the reader that Daisy and Tom will keep their marriage together. Fitzgerald uses the wedding march to create ironic juxtaposition. The wedding march obviously means that one marriage is beginning and ironically right above the wedding on appears to crumbling.
She always seemed to want the best for Juliet and do good things for her but she also seemed confused throughout the story. One thing she did in the story that shows this was when she conspired with Friar Laurence about a plan to give the new made bridegroom their honeymoon night. She wanted Juliet to still have her honeymoon although Romeo had been banished. She saw this as a way for her to show how much she cared and it truly worked. On the other hand, when Juliet was in desperate need for help, the Nurse didn’t do her very much good.
She knew that her children will soon leave and have their time in life and spend less and less time with her and that she would just simply stay inside and be alone. She must have been terrified of that. She lost Edward and did not want her daughter Mary to find about that at the moment of her lifetime. Jane was terrified of telling Mary the truth and she might have thought that if she does than Mary will panic and be emotionally hurt for the rest of her life. At the end, Jane seems to be happy that she will soon be able to be to join Edward.
However in this poem she cannot find a happier memory and recalls a dream instead, “I dreamed once long ago, that we walked among day-bright flowers.” Her use of positive imagery such as the “day-bright flowers” lightens the mood and achieves the same effect of the memories in The Violets, as she stops thinking of death and causes the reader to forget the unhappy nature of the initial memory and be emotionally moved by the warmth of the following memory where she is “secure in my father’s arms.” In her poems The Violets, Father and Child and At Mornington Gwen Harwood demonstrates through her use of memories, her loss of innocence, the love for her parents and how quickly time moves. Up until the middle of my freshman year I was a people pleaser in every possible way, if someone didn’t like something about me I would try and accommodate that person, I would change what they didn’t like about me hoping that if I changed I could become friends with them. Then my parents made me join an Ojai Valley Youth Foundation poetry and youth group of sorts called Blinc. One night during Blinc we were all discussing our insecurities then we all realized as a group how dumb it was to worry about petty things people didn’t like about us or worry about not fitting in. I realized that I liked myself. I am unique; I don’t fit into the crowd and why spend my time trying to when I could have fun standing out?
The night after Myrtle's death, Daisy knew that she would have to give up love to find what she thought was most important. Daisy Buchanan choose money, status, and family instead of the love she sought after for so many years. She thought that it was in her family's best interest to move forward, and never look back. In The Great Gatsby, no other character could have compared to the way Daisy changed the atmosphere of the novel. Everyone fights for something in their life, and Daisy just so happened to fight for the wrong thing.
