This essay draws research on the demonstration of the author’s ability to conduct an analysis, summary and descriptive perspective on the programme of study within ICT and associate applications to each curriculum aspect. The author intends on doing this by researching, reading and extending their own knowledge. The overall aim of this essay is to summarise how the programme of study is set out and how it is followed, in order to promote children’s learning in ICT. These remain the National Curriculum, the QCA Scheme of Work, and the Lancashire School Progression document.   The essay draws upon a range of aspects, which will implicate how the author has planned for each programme of study and how they would plan for reviewing modifying and evaluating work as it progresses. This paper derives from demonstration of the author’s ability to explore issues surrounding the breath of study, in the context of the programme of study.

The Guardian appears correct because it show the view of ICT in today’s education, showing that ICT is an established part of children’s education. Another author agrees with author by agreeing that ICT is a big part to their educational life. ‘ICT is significant in everyday life, since computers and associated technologies are increasingly necessary in all businesses and commercial concerns. But it does not logically follow that computers should also be used in primary schools’ (Leask, M: 2000:18). Leask interprets this to show how ICT is vital in today’s society, as everyone uses ICT in their day-to-day lifestyles.
