I agree with this view because I have a high intelligence in linguistic, but I do not have a very high intelligence in mathematical. I like the way that Gardner split up the intelligences because I do not think that everyone could have a high intelligence in all of the areas. Every person has an intelligence that they are good at and also a weakness that needs worked on(M. Mclean, DQ 2 week 3, February 16th 2013). People can take IQ tests to discover their intelligence but they have to be aware that it could be biased. Logical-Mathematical is where a person will detect patterns, reason, and think logically and your thoughts will have scientific and mathematical reasoning.
Gender differences in visuospatial abilities: what factors play an important role? Abstract It has been argued that through tests such as a Line judgment test, one that measures visuospatial ability, males score higher than females. This report measures speed and accuracy in the Line Judgment test, and includes a separate Driving test which also measures visuospatial ability, and investigates what factors play an important role in these two experiments. Undergraduate males (N = 39) outperformed undergraduate females (N = 49). Agreeing with past research, males were found to be better at both tasks, with female reaction times, in the Line judgment task, found to be larger.
ABSTRACT The study sought to predict relationships of the personality dimension of introversion-extraversion to individuals’ use of computer and mobile phone text messaging. 106 post- graduate psychology students took part in the study, (17 males and 89 females; mean age=20.24 and SD=6.15.) Participants completed a personality questionnaire and a texting communication survey, which consisted of recording time spent Emailing, Im and texting over a one-week period. Total time spent sending and receiving text messages was found to be negatively correlation with (Introversion-Extraversion) scores. The results support the prediction that there would be a relationship between SMS and I-E scores although no significant relationships were found in the other communication activities.
Testing Intelligence PSY/201 08/21/2011 Testing Intelligence While completing the intelligence test at www.intelligencetest.com/, I found that my score was considered lower average. I do find that this information is correct, even if it does hurt to be considered lower average. Since I consider this information correct, I do understand that since I have not had any formal education in over twenty years, it could result in a lower score. Since I was able to complete thirty questions and only answered twelve correctly, this also shows with my testing ability and something that I have struggled with throughout my life. I do not think that the test was particularly biased since there were questions in multiple different areas and
By the passing of centuries people have become more concerned about society and the way we conduct life. This is why life has improved throughout the decades, by creating electricity, computers and internet and so on. Secondly, studies suggests that people who worry too much have higher levels of activity in regions of the brain that aid in communication between parts of the brain. These regions are thought to have contributed to the evolutionary success of humans, the researchers say. According to scientists even though excessive worry has been generally considered a negative trait and high intelligence a positive one, worry may cause our species to avoid dangerous situations, regardless of how remote a possibility they can be.
THE EFFECT OF LIMITED AND EXTENSIVE OPTIONS ON MOTIVATION, SATISFACTION AND CHOICE Abstract The matter of choice in recent times has become of increasing importance, with choice a part of our everyday lives, it only seems fitting that it is discovered to what extent ease of choice is effected by the number of choice. To investigate the influence of extensive and limited choice has on motivation and satisfaction, 100 Psychology students rated the extent of their motivation, ease of choice and satisfaction in regards to Nokia Phones. Participants were put into two groups; Extensive and Limited choice. As Hypothesised, participants in the limited choice group experienced higher levels of satisfaction and ease of choice, however in contrary to our hypothesis levels of motivation between the two groups were even. These findings suggest that a limited array of choice is superior to extensive choice in regard to satisfaction and ease of choice.
Grades are being used for this because grades can be used to get a rough preview of the person in question. Grades show the applicant’s ability to listen accurately, communicate clearly, follow instructions, and to return a product, answer or skill on request. It is the student’s willingness and ability to apply themselves to the task at hand that demonstrates their future value to employers in the marketplace. Prospective bosses see good grades in school as an indication of the student’s ability to provide desired results, which makes them highly marketable and in demand. Without grades, how else would we assess and measure a student’s abilities in a practical way that can be used for this?
How this course has made me a better business leader. Courses such as this one are valuable in that they allow you to develop skills that you may already have but haven’t really refined. They allow you to gain an appreciation for the practical applications of knowledge and to learn how to apply them to your normal work day. In my specific case it has allowed me to broaden and deepen what I thought I already knew. The scientific method is not new to most of the students in these classes.
Over all, the definition of the good life varies for everyone. There isn’t one specific way that a person should live in order for it to be “good”. However, although the definition of the good life is very diverse and open to multiple interpretations, in order to live the best life possible, one should concentrate on doing whatever makes him or her happy, listening to his or her conscience and doing what it right, and establishing good relationships with family and peers. The most key piece to living the good life is doing whatever makes one happy. For most adults, this could mean having a job in their dream career field, and actually wanting to get out of bed to go to work in the mornings.
Our results were more effective when we ran the test on how the combination of all stats affected winning percentage, however, this would be obvious given the nature of our study. While this study did not produce the result we wanted, we believe that we could use the information learned from this study and develop a study that would be more effective. Introduction Coaches are always looking for a better understanding of what makes up a winning team. This knowledge would help them in recruiting athletes that could improve the team’s statistics in the areas we observed. We took the entire statistical breakdown from the 1999-2000 season and were hoping to find any key statistical areas that could be directly related to winning percentage.
