He feels better after doing the right thing. After contemplating whether to help free Jim for a second time, Huck thinks about all the times Jim has been there for him and helped him and been selfless and cannot bring himself to not help free his friend. Furthermore “[Huck] struck the time [he] saved [Jim] by telling the men [they] had small-pox aboard, and [Jim] was so grateful” (223), making it almost impossible for Huck to
By being independent individuals we don’t have to wait on other peoples support or permission to do certain things. We don’t have to go out of our way to please somebody else because we do as we want. When we are independent our confidence meter starts to rise up, it gives us that extra boost of motivation we desire to achieve new things. I believe that we are the creators of our own life, that we all have the same power to start and finish new goals but only a few have the actual strength and correct mind set to do it. Equality 7-2521 says that “the guiding star is within me” and that it points to just one direction, and that direction is “me”.

His mysterious tendencies somehow attract the narrator and cause his many attempts in assisting Bartleby.
He makes Dumpster diving seem somewhat exciting and mysterious, rather than sleazy and disgusting. He also makes it clear this is not what he would prefer to do, but since he has too, he will make the best of it. He even writes essays about his experience, which is certainly innovative and interesting. He is certainly making the best of a bad situation, and it seems because he has such a good attitude, that he will not be Dumpster diving forever. It is also clear from the essay Eighner has pride in what he does, and considers himself an expert at scavenging from Dumpsters.
