Several types of noise were shown in this movie. At practice, the players discussed the way their tiredness and thirst, physiological noise, were affecting their performance. Physical noise was rampant at the games. Fans intentionally get really loud while the other team is on offense to confuse them and hopefully mess them up. The coaches and teammates had to yell at each other so they could hear what plays to run over all the noise in the stadium.
Footage of dead children in Syria broadcasting across international media despite the Syrian regime denying journalist permits to enter the country and restricting the coverage of those inside Syria, sparked riot across the world. This event was mistaken as riots in Libya over the oil (CBC News community reacts to Vancouver riots, 2011). These fans have now hindered the reputation of Vancouver City and now they may second guess facilitating and supporting the team in the area. Presently, the rioters are the most influential stakeholder to the team. They are causing grief among the organization and all other stakeholders. If the riot did not occur, the team would still have the support and loyalty of the other stakeholders.
Bowling for Columbine Introduction In ‘’Bowling for Columbine’’, Michael Moore takes a look at some of the many social issues that plague America these days. For me, this documentary is an ethnographic film. It focuses on American people but also outlines their lifestyle and their customs. Moore starts his documentary by briefly talking about the Columbine High School shooting and then moves on to discuss potential causes for this act of war when two students aggressively started to randomly shoot their peers in the once protected school surrounding. In the documentary, Michael Moore claims that catalyzed fears for good or wrong reasons lead people to violence.
The shooting was the reason for some original remonstrations; however there were other factors that sparked the nationwide protests, and the extreme violence which followed. There are many conflicting views and beliefs concerning who or what is to blame for the riots ranging from; social media platforms such as BBM (Blackberry Messenger) and Facebook [5], which encouraged people to revolt. Others justified their actions as a consequence of Government cuts and poor policing, which antagonised some of the more deprived communities throughout Britain. "If you're making massive cuts, there's always the potential for this sort of revolt against that"[7]. Alternatively others blamed opportunists taking advantage of the situation to loot for their own benefit, and cause mindless violence.
The problem here is that once you start camping out on City Halls doorstep, you are interfering with the rights of others to use public property. Also, these protesters have very twisted ideas about free speech. Like most demented liberals, you are free to speak, only if you agree with their political views/opinions. Community activist Zuma Dogg found that out the hard way when he went down to Los Angeles City Hall and set up his microphone and tried to do some "free speech." He ended up getting attacked by an angry mob within one minute of starting his speech.
Lenin's plan caused much fear in the American people, and became more heightened when radical political activist felt this cause. So this caused the "first red scare" and this would be the first stage for a communist take over. These "activist" were called anarchist and were out to destroy the American government by violence. This resulted in a wave of terroristic violence in 1919, using bombs meant to hurt people near by and to cause fear throughout America itself. The anarchist used the Postal System to send over 20 bombs which were to explode upon opening, however the authorities discovered these bombs before they could detinate, and cause any harm.
PSYCHOLOGY INVESTIGATION: Examining Group influences on behaviour PSYCHOLOGY 7th of March 2014 PSYCHOLOGY INVESTIGATION 2 Abstract PSYCHOLOGY INVESTIGATION 3 Examining Group influences on behaviour The presence and interaction with others can affect us positively or negatively and have a diverse effect on us. It has been proposed that when individuals are in a group with other who hold similar attitudes or beliefs it has a marked and definite effect on our decision making abilities this process is called group polarisation, which is the tendency for decisions made by groups to be far more extreme than decisions made by individuals. On the other hand while our behaviour may become more extreme with like-minded people, it completely changes when we are with people who view the world at a different point of view. Modifying behaviour in response to group pressure is known as conformity. Leadership styles in particular can have a major influence on how individuals behave and how it effect decisions made in groups for example.
On August 9, 2014; Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager was shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson. The shooting resulted in numerous acts of Civil Disobedience by the Ferguson and St. Louis Communities. Non-violent protesters blockaded highways and numerous city streets. The goal of the protesters was to pursue their call for racial equity and changes in policing. Many of the protests where interrupted by the abuse of force by the Ferguson Police Department; just like the protests during the Civil Rights Movement, corrupt officials abuse their authority and violate constitutional rights.
ANTISEMITISM AND RACISM IN EUROPEAN SOCCER Yves Pallade Christoph Villinger Deidre Berger AJC Berlin Office/Ramer Center for German-Jewish Relations May 2007 INTRODUCTION The attackers shouted slogans like “dirty Jew” and “dirty Nigger.” After the soccer match between Paris Saint-Germain and Hapoel Tel Aviv in Paris, Janniv H., who is a fan of both clubs, was chased by about 150 Paris Saint-Germain supporters. An undercover police officer who tried to help him was himself attacked and subjected to racial slurs about his black skin color. When the use of teargas proved insufficient to halt the attack, the policeman pulled his gun and fired a shot, accidentally killing a Paris Saint-Germain supporter and wounding another. This incident took place on November 23, 2006. The tragic incident in France following a soccer game illustrates the dangers of allowing racist and antisemitic attitudes to flourish uncountered in the world of sports.
