In this part, I will give you some explanations about Place and Promotion. First, let us look at the place. The Place of the marketing is about where the product is made, where is it stored and how is it transported to the customer. The place for each of these things should ensure that the product gets to the right place at the right time without damage or loss. Additionally, place refers to how an organisation will distribute the product or service. Efficient and effective distribution is important if the organisation is to meet its overall marketing objectives. So which way the company can choose to distribute their product or service? There are two channels of distribution methods are available: Indirect distribution and direct distribution. Indirect distribution involves distributing your product by the use of an intermediary. For example, as the chart shows, a manufacturer selling to a wholesaler and then on to the retailer.. Direct distribution is selling the product directly from a manufacturer to the consumer. For example Dell Computers provides its product directly to its target customers. The advantage of direct distribution is that it gives a manufacturer complete control over their product. With the two channels, how can the companies distribute their product? Depending on the type of product there are three common distribution strategies available: 1. Intensive distribution: It is commonly used to distribute low priced or impulse purchases products such as chocolates, soft drinks. 2. Exclusive distribution: The product is usually highly priced, and requires the intermediary to place much detail in its sell. For example, the sale of vehicles is through exclusive dealers. 3. Selective Distribution: A small number of retail outlets are chosen to distribute the product. The products such as computers, televisions are sold in retail outlets, where
