You should also describe methods of storing records and the benefits of each. Give an explanation of 2 essential items of UK legislation relating to the recording, storing and accessibility of HR data. It is essential that organisations are accurately collecting and analysing HR information to satisfy legal obligations. However, in terms of internal requirements, an organisation must store up to date and accurate records correctly for many reasons. Such as contractual agreements and to maintain employee contact details. But also to ensure efficient forward planning, remain competitive, monitor diversity and provide a good service to their employees and customers. The recording and analysing of HR data also facilitates in staff getting the correct remuneration and enables consistency for disciplines and promotions. Furthermore, obtaining HR data is imperative for producing statistical information, trends for sickness/absence and turnover stats and can also provide the relevant information for decision making, consultation requirements, future development/planning and information which will help in the event of a claim. HR records include a wide variety of information relating to individuals working in an organisation.
