Introduction It cannot be emphasized enough that team is important. Team has always been important and will be important in future as well. In some statistics, the study worked by a team has better quality than the study worked by an individual. However team does not always produce good outcome. There are various levels of team under extent of effectiveness. This is apparent that team which has effectiveness produces good result. There are some factors which affect team effectiveness. This essay will introduce three significant factors on team effectiveness. Body First of all, team cohesion affects team effectiveness. Team cohesion is ‘the degree of attraction people feel toward the team and their motivation to remain members’ (McShane & Travaglione 2010, P. 317). This shows how much team members are proud and attracted to the team. Team members who have high level of team cohesion seem to be more collaborated and successful to achieve the team’s mission or objective than those who have low level of team cohesion. This is because that highly cohesive team member efficiently uses their abilities and is committed to achieve team’s mission. There are some characteristics that affect to team cohesion for example member similarity and difficult entry. Firstly, there is member similarity. People feel more comfortable with who are similar with them. Thus, the team, which consists of people who have similar background, seems to become cohesive highly and quickly. The second characteristic is difficult entry. Team will be able to have high level team cohesion when the entry is narrow. In other worlds, team members are more satisfied when they join the team, which is difficult to join, rather than the team, which is easy to join. For example, there is so-called ‘Hell Weak’ in U.S. According to Cialdini (2006), freshmen should have tests in order to join dormitories
