The Character Traits of Abraham Abraham was a man who sought after God. In most everything that we learn about his life we see that he chose to have faith and to be a good leader. However, just like any other person, he had his faults and shortcomings. At times he decided to go his own way, instead of trusting God’s omniscient and omnipotent nature. In this paper I will discuss several character traits that I feel describe Abraham and the choices that he made throughout his life.
Another good character trait was that he was extremely ambitious usually he would pick out tasks that carried a significant amount of weight sometimes even he could not complete them. He was also very obedient to his parents even if it meant that he might miss out on something or if he might get hurt. (pg. 36) After all the problems that he had to face, he obtained a very tough character and learned to work together with his family. One of his most Christian traits was that he was a very giving and generous.

In life, unreliable people surround us. These people often break promises, bringing disappointment to others. Sometimes the undependable person may not realize the disappointment the empty promises bring to others. Like in the quote from “The Ship Shape” by David Sedaris, the father expected the family to be excited about the promises, but instead they were disappointed because they had been let down numerous times.
It was comforting to know that in fact my messed up, imperfect; out-of-control life is actually the earmark of true Christianity. That real Christianity is lopsided, erratic and of course messy. Yaconelli words were words of encouragement, strength and comfort. Going through the book, I personally felt the heart of God reaching out to me and opening my heart to realize that what I’m going through is part of His plan and He is going to bring me closer to Him in the whole
Encouragement is also a very important factor in this process. In 2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17 it states, “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave his eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” Overcoming Rebellion Rebellion is defined as a refusal of obedience or order. Many people don’t like the idea of giving control to anyone but themselves. This can hindered a person greatly because God is in control of our lives and knows what our plan is. If a person continues to deny what God has for them, then their lives will not be happy.
All Chris cared about was making people laugh that was his life’s motive. He fed off of other people’s happiness even if he was miserable. Some say he may have had a form of a Somatoform Disorder or Behavioral Disorder. Chris was constantly sent down to the office for being extremely disruptive and disrespectful in class just to entertain his peers. Chris’s father never truly yelled at him for what he did just because of how cute he was as a child, Chris was usually allowed to do whatever he wanted this gave him this sense of empowerment but at the same time caused him to grow this self-independence.
He went to church every Sunday and even though he heard the words the preacher was saying he did not learn a thing, which made his parents worry and they prayed for him often that he would soon find his way to the Lord. He was also, like many of us, he hated going to school. It wasn't until he got the hang of it that he started to enjoy going. He started to notice that math was starting to make sense and that geography was not just colors on a map but real places. His parents were starting to notice how smart he was and they thought that maybe he was to smart for the 6th grade so they moved him to 7th grade which turned out to be a bad idea because that is when he started to hate school and it was soon after that, that at the age of 14 he would drop out of school.
Without Slim, John Steinbeck's book would not have had the same effect. He gave the reader of the book the idea of a king. Slim was caring, understanding, and a great leader. Slim's best characteristic was how he always thought of people. From the beginning, Slim was very nice Lennie and George .
I strived to succeed, so when I didn’t do my best I would get very upset with myself and try harder until I was the best. I hate the feeling of failure especially when I knew that I had tried my very hardest. My parents always told me try your hardest or don’t try at all, so anytime I lost at something I felt like I was letting them down. Like I said before the best feeling in the world is when your parents show pride in you, well how awesome that feels is coinciding with how horrible it feels when they are upset with me. Through the years I have learned what I am good at and what I don’t excel in.
Jamie Gosney International Christian Studies Professor White, Dobbins 3 December 2012 Final Integrative Paper As I begin to type out what I have learned throughout the time in this class, and the over view to my conclusion I realize that my heart has been changed dramatically. Before I entered this class I had a different outlook as to who God is, and how He fit into my life. Although I had been practicing the concept of giving up a lot of what I had for God before this class, I never really knew how to take the next step. My journey with God has been a dramatic struggle throughout my life. I have fallen into some bad times because of my sin, and on the polar opposite to that effect I have also given up a lot to be with God.
