Once more, any religious group has the right to organize and express their beliefs as long as the line between church and state is not over stepped. That is how our freedoms are restricted in today’s society. Although it seems our freedoms are being more and more restricted, we are still in a better place than other countries and cultures. Many conservative Christian groups are reaching out in many other areas that aide the countries that do not have the freedoms that we do here in the states. They also are taking up issues with environmental battles leading back into religion as we are stewards of the earth and that we are stepping away from that which will lead to future generations going without much of what we have now. Even with going into foreign policies as a way to help other countries to achieve the same freedoms the U.S. does. The main focus of any religious groups are fighting to keep the freedom to practice their religions, to have freedom of speech and not allow the government to over step the bounds that were set in place according to the Bill of Rights within the…show more content…
They feel that this is needed to protect the public from what they refer to as “a wasteland”. They feel that the quality of program content is lacking and that we need protecting. They forget that do so would go against the First Amendment in the Constitution. The public has a right to choose what they want to watch and the entertainment industry has the right to broadcast accordingly. They feel that adults cannot make the right choices which is an insult to anyone and everyone. The question is asked “how would the government know what good or quality programming is?” Even though the marketplace has served the American public interest over the years, it is just that, the public’s ideals, interest, and taste. The government may not like what we chose but it is not their place to choose for us or even to tell us what we can and cannot watch, listen and speak. The regulations that are in place are there for the free people and therefore should remain
