The forgotten war The war of 1812 lasted from 1812 to 1815, and is by far the least remembered war in United States history. One reason behind this is that the war truly had no path or reason, it was just war. However there are many events that led to the war; the sinking of American ships and capture of American crew members by the British, and much more. Prior to the American war of 1812 the British and the French were at odds in the Napoleonic wars. During which the Americans were supplying the French with war supplies. The British then began sinking American ships to prevent the supplies from reaching France and they captured the American crews and forced them to…show more content…
It’s as though America said “Hey, yes I am a real country that can and will take up arms and wage war!”

It is the least know conflict I would say in American history, no real reason behind the war

Well Americans still had a dislike for Britain and due to the sinking of ships and capturing of sailors the public was just tired of Britain and give them one final push away from the colonies
