Daniel Calistro Jr. Professor Gomez History 100 November 10, 2012 The forgotten war The war of 1812 lasted from 1812 to 1815, and is by far the least remembered war in United States history. One reason behind this is that the war truly had no path or reason, it was just war. However there are many events that led to the war; the sinking of American ships and capture of American crew members by the British, and much more. Prior to the American war of 1812 the British and the French were at odds in the Napoleonic wars. During which the Americans were supplying the French with war supplies.
