To know that the child will suffer and eventually die is difficult to accept but that is when religion and faith is important. Then the question comes is this God wanted for these parents and why. It is not for anyone to decide but the Lord who gets to live or die and when. Faith and trust in God will not provide all the answers but will ease the loss of the child and the parents will have the joy of being parents for a short
The Qur’an described the importance of being sincere, patient, and charitable (Doc B). It also promised good things, like everlasting life in paradise, for people who are true to Islam (Doc B). Even non-Muslims appreciated that they could still follow their faiths as long as they agreed to a Pact that had them pay a bit extra for rights and protections (Doc E). The Qur’an and the Muslim tolerance for other people provided ideas about God and ways of living that many people found very attractive, and because of this, many more people became
There are people who do good things because of their faiths and the camaraderie of the various religious groups is undeniably beneficial for local communities. However, people who do good things simply because their faith tells them to do so and not because they can see the good they can do with their own eyes need a good wake up call. No God, Preacher, Priest or religious person should have to influence the actions and decisions you make, isn't the human nature enough? Are people too afraid to act upon their own instincts? Will people forever be sheep and follow the words of others, the words of people who lived thousands of years
3. It’s odd because she is not a religious person so a lot of people don’t think she deserves a religious burial. 4. No, he just says he doesn’t know why he doesn’t want to see the open casket, but admits to being embarrassed because he felt he shouldn’t have said “no.” Some people don’t know how to deal with death very well and its hard for them to say goodbye. However, most do want to see the body before burial because it offers closure.
Spiritual health is believing and living for something that helps you succeed in life. The main thing that will lead your life in success and in the after life is Jesus Christ. Not many believe and it is a shame but Jesus died for our sins and is here to help us and teach us to do good. Everything that is good and that people teach us today in there own way comes from the
As we can see, Equiano became free with the help of self-reliance which is indispensable for those who also want to become free not only physically but also mentally and spiritually. You need this skill because there are occasions in life where you are alone; no one stands behind you and makes the choice instead of you. Christianity is also an important factor in Equiano’s life. As Martin writes in the critical reading ‘God helps those who help themselves’ (Martin, 257). Belief is a clambering for everyone just like for Equiano.
Both of these things were staples in everyday Puritan life. Puritans believed wholeheartedly in the Christian religion. This devotion gave them hope of a life after death, and a belief that every action in their lives would be judged in the grand scheme of things and would determine where they would go in the afterlife: heaven or hell. While this belief was positive for most Puritans and lead to happier, more benevolent lives, it could also be seen as detrimental to the lives of some Puritans. These two sides to Puritan religion are nicely depicted in the play The Crucible written by Arthur Miller.
Certainly no one wants to go to Hell. So, the Puritans tried to better their lives, and go by rules or "resolutions." They believed if they followed these resolutions, even though God predetermined their fate, they could live a life of good and maybe prove they are meant to go to Heaven. One of the many detailed resolutions they had to follow was "To think much, on all occasions, of my own dying and of the common circumstances which attend death." I certainly would be frightened to think
People believe that it is easier to win people to Christ after becoming friends. In research, I found multiple meanings for this type of evangelism, but I am going to stick with the above definition. Other meanings were metaphorical and, therefore, discarded. I agree with the thought behind this method. It is always easier and less awkward to talk with people that you already know, as in a friendship.
In order for you to have a peaceful death you must have a peaceful life, and in order to have a peaceful life you must have God in you life. Most of the examples in this book dealt with an individual that did not make God the center of their life. So consequently when they learned they were going to die they did not have peace in their lives to deal with this news. Not only does it affect the one who is passing but also the family members. All of us have issues, some more serious than others.
