My son Kaleb was born May 24 2008, and from that moment on I wanted to give him everything he deserves. I tried to go back to college right after my son was born, but I had no idea what I wanted to do for my future and taking care of Kaleb wasn't cheap. I was constantly working to pay for the expenses of Kaleb, while paying for the rest of the expenses I had. Finally four years later, I made the best decision I could for my family and that was going back to school. One of the many reasons why I came back was that I did not was to continue being in a factory the rest of my life.
I was a huge jock in high school and it has taught me to be a team player and a leader in my life. Right now I do not have a job. I was laid off by my last employer and I felt that it was a sign that I should go back to school again and get that all important degree. I’m going to get my associates first then I’m going to get my bachelors. I have been in the retail business my whole professional career and felt that a business degree would help me achieve my goals.
20 October 2011 The Bachelors Degree as a Job Requirement Being an adult and returning to college after receiving the pink slip from my employer was a hard choice I had to make. I soon found out that in this economy seven years of experience as an executive assistant, Microsoft certificates and my good attitude just wasn’t enough to get a good job anymore. I wasn’t even being considered because my resume didn’t state I went to college and received a bachelor’s degree. Going to college is a huge commitment and responsibility. College provides us with the knowledge and credibility that employers seek in this demanding world today.
Capitan Mark Kelly Ever since I was a young girl I have always had great dreams and high expectations for myself. Anytime I was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would quickly reply” a lawyer” As the years went by I still had that goal in mind, but I began to realize that I was not exactly Ivy League material. Though I did work really hard in my classes, I was still at best average. During my junior year I took my SAT’s, and cried when I got my scores back. For many years I was scared to go to college because I thought I wasn’t college material.
To not only graduate at a young age, but to be accepted into college that young is big. To put the cherry on top, the college would be Harvard. You already know he is a hard, dedicated guy if he has succeeded in these categories. He had his own company and usually people accept failure and try to go through the motions of being an owner, but he did the exact opposite. He would fight and have successful drive towards what he did, even if he had lawsuits and downfalls
My parents believe that if I were to study medical science, I would go on to live a wealthy and promising life, what they do not know, is that I would no longer be happy. Despite my family’s oppressive opinion, I’d rather put in more effort in an occupation of my choice such as a job in the
I am joining so that I may move out and wreak the benefits of the GI bill. The military will give me money to go to college and buy an apartment. Which brings us back to college, every thing I do in life revolves around college. My father was right, the better the education I have the better job I can get in the future. I can’t get a good high paying job that supports my future family and I with just a GED.
But I can still pull through. I am willing to pull through. What Has Been Your Most Rewarding Accomplishment? Honestly, completing college would be my biggest achievement. In my first year, I was struggling for the first semester, I had a hard time with my roommates who I had to live with, I had no choice, I couldn’t really pick.
I thought again to college was just any way for people with a smart gene go to because more of annoying with all the big words and smartness but I was wrong. When I first entered into college, I was like I can’t do this until I gave it a try. Filling at job applications and putting that I am a student in the field that they are looking for is I make sure that I add Everest University. I have gotten plenty of jobs that I have tried to get for joining for a Business degree that I can now get. I feel like if it was not for going to Everest and taking up this degree, then I would not have had the job that I have now.
Coming from a big family I have seen certain family members struggle in life simply because they did not have an educational background. This has only motivated me to want to finish getting my degree so I can hopefully find a great career in the near future. Going through everything I did with my family in the past will benefit me as I begin this degree program also because when I finish I hope I will have inspired other members in my family to finish school also. Being African American has set me back in life a few times but every since I experienced that it has only made me more determined to finish school. This way, the next time I apply for a job they will be too impressed with my educational background to turn me
