Positive and negative reinforcement, rewards and punishments can lead to more productive employee behavior and less counterproductive employee behavior. However, when they feel as though they are not valued and receive no reinforcement in a positive manner they tend to feel worthless. Employee Motivation Theory Often times companies that struggle with the relationship between the employees and the goals of the organization; sometimes the moral of its employee is thread that sets the relationship apart. Managers have made several failed attempts to establish that relationship with the employee to knit them together with the goals of the organization. Therefore, the company level of accomplishments is diminished. A good manager has learned good people skills, and often times he/she is able to motivate their employees to increase their output. It is important to be able to penetrate any barriers that the employee may have as a defense mechanism.
I need to be able to counsel the employees in the correct behavior and follow up with them to be sure they are continuing to improve. The employees who work in our factory are not paid well. They work long hours and are on their feet all day. It can become very easy for them act out against each other, against their managers, and to not have a good work ethic. I am happy to be able to take the time to spend with these employees and brainstorm ways that we can make their days better for them.
