How to create excellence in the workplace? Basically, there are 10 keys that Managers do to create an excellence workplace, not only for him but also to everybody in the organization: 1) Compelling, positive vision, clear goal The managers should create the positive vision and clear goal, so that, everybody aware and knows what to achieve. We create direction and purpose which means that we can “program” ourselves to consistently achieve what we want. I remembered the Japanese Proverbs that ‘Vision Without Action is Daydreaming and Action Without Vision is a Nightmare.’ 2) Communication It is basic key to any workplace excellence. All messages need to be clear in order to ensure there is no ambiguity or lack of understanding. 3) Selection of people A good manager should know the correct person to assign the particular task. For example, an IT person should handling all the IT related matters, and not account matters, UNLESS he/she is a multi-tasking employee which benefits to the company. 4) Remember: same group/team Every group of people must not only work as a GROUP where every individual works for his own advantage, but instead, everyone should work as part of a TEAM, where he/she is working towards a common goal. When these "small contributions" build up, success is hardly unforeseeable. 5) Cool stuff: improvement & innovation Whether you belong to your company's R&D or Operations Departments, one thing is sure is that you can do more to create an environment where your teams can create cool stuff and give your organization a competitive advantage. 6) Recognition Recognition is essentially positive feedback that lets employees know they are valued and appreciated by their coworkers and the organization.
