HSE Knowledge and Understanding: Images of Mother and Child Analysis 1 I think Henry Moore is trying to communicate the relationship between mother and child. Seen on the sculpture, the mother stands tall because her chin goes up showing confidence. Her expression is a sign of strength which I think she is trying to teach the kid to also be strong and confident. The mother is holding the child with one arm only which shows her strength but also makes the child hold on. Therefore the mother is teaching the child to be strong. This is also a sign of dependence because the child still needs the mother to hold on to the child. Another relation the mother and child show is care because the mother is caring for the child however it does look like the child needs to find out a few things. In conclusion of this sculpture of mother and child, I think that the mother is proud and is a good example of hr teaching the child to be strong and confident. Analysis 2 In this sculpture made by Henry Moore I think the mother is trying to protect her child. I think she is protecting her child because the mother sits around the child and shoulders bend around the child to guard it. Also it looks like the mom is looking at the child meaning she cares for the kid. The child shows dependence because it needs the mother to care for the child. This sculpture also shows trust because the child trusts the mom to protects it and make sure it is safe. The gesture the mother is showing love and to keep the child because it looks like someone could have stood behind the mother wanting to steal the kid. In conclusion, I think this sculpture is a perfect example of dependence the child needs from the mother. Analysis 3 Like in the second analysis of the sculpture of Henry Moore, this sculpture made by the same artist shows the same expressions. Again the mother bends her
