The Molding of a Good Man Every man makes mistakes; however it takes only a good man to admit when he is wrong and make up for that mistake. Time and time again throughout “The Crucible” John Proctor struggles with his internal conscience. However John proves that even in midst of a mistake that he makes struggling with his conscience, he will always catch it and correct it. A good man is someone who puts the needs of others before his own. Countless times in “The Crucible” John proctor proves himself to be a selfless man.
Cyrano, the main character in Cyrano was a very proud, generous, self-sacrificing, and ambitious man. These characteristics come out in Act one, but last throughout his lifetime. He keeps being his magnanimous self. There are so many ways he expresses himself and even though he had all those characteristics, he wasn’t doing it symbolically. In light of his gesture he completely revealed his character and his true self.
No matter what color, race, sex, what set they’re from, how they were raised, anything. He loves everyone. To prove this, “if you were my son, I’d be the proudest man alive” shows that he shows Looney a tremendous amount of love. Looney has just pulled G aside to show him his report card of “straight A’s” which turned out to be a little off but Father Greg decides to support Looney and show compassion because he is proud of him regardless. Looney actually only got one A grade but didn’t receive any bad marks and G is very proud of him for this.
Even though Lennie really bothers George at some points, he is a wonderfully loving and devoted friend and would never actually leave Lennie. He also seems to have a very short temper. He is always protecting Lennie. He lies to his boss at one point to make sure that Lennie got the job. Together, these two men have wonderful dreams.
