Bullying victims can have a lot of stress added on and it can lead to retaliation such as school shootings as well as suicide. Cyber bullying is the more modern type of bullying and some argue that it's the most harmful. When it comes to cyber bullying anyone can become the bully. The small scrawny kid can be just as harmful as the big kid on the playground. Cyber bullying can have a longer lasting effect on the victim.

Then one of the most common is verbal bullying which includes name calling, making offensive remarks, or joking about the way someone looks. Drama over Bullying: What’s in a Word Everyone in their life has experienced bullying, but bullying is slowly taking on new forms in a changing society. The images of a playground bully are turning into little two dimensional and cowering behind social media programs such as Facebook, Twitter, Intsagram, ect. In the article “The Drama over Bullying: What’s in a Word” the author talks about her point of view with bullying and how being a little overzealous with the word “bullying” is not a bad thing. The author starts out with stories of sorrow, how kids had been bullied to the point that there was no other way out except for suicide. This upsets me as the reader and it clearly upsets the author, with her attitude clearly saying that if it has come to this, something needs to be done.

High school is often considered a jungle for any student but what about students that are GLB? I know and saw a lot of people getting bullied for many reasons, no matter how old they are. Whether it’s their race, sexual orientation, personality, disability, or physical features. The Dictionary of Prisons and Punishment defines bullying to be: “...the use of physical, psychological and verbal aggression to intimidate others to submit to the will of another and/or cause emotional upset.” (BULLYING). It’s not right to cause such pain towards people, but people still do it. A few people I used to be friends with liked to bully others.
These words are often used by people to target Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual teenagers. As a result, almost 38% of students reported that they had "frequently or often" been subjected to harassment at school. Included in this, are 1/4 of students saying that they had been harassed physically because of their gender identity. This implies that verbal abuse often times lead to physical abuse. Words are the leading cause of misunderstanding, and words uttered in a derogatory manner often have negative outcomes.
