Electromagnetic Induction Based Wireless Power Transmission Introduction: Wireless power transmission is the process that takes place in any system where electrical energy is transmitted from a power source to an electrical load without interconnects wires. The next generation in portable devices that receives power wirelessly. Wireless transmission is useful in cases where instantaneous or continuous energy transfer is needed but interconnecting wires are inconvenient , hazardous ,or impossible . The transfer of energy takes place by electromagnetic coupling through a process known as mutual induction. In our project, we are using ‘Nikola Tesla `s concept of Electromagnetic induction & resonance (combined effect of Electrodynamics induction ). Working principle: Resonant energy transfer or resonant inductive coupling is the short distance wireless transmission of energy between two coils that are highly resonant at the same frequency. Resonant transfer works by making a coil ring with an oscillating current. This generates an oscillating magnetic field. In an electrical transformer we use an air core, the transmission of energy takes place by simple electromagnetic coupling through a process known as mutual induction .Because the coil is highly resonant any energy placed in the coil dies away relatively slowly over every many cycles; but if a second coil is brought near to it, the coil can pick up most of the energy before it is lost ,even if it is some distance away. Using resonance can help efficiency dramatically .If resonant coupling is used, each coil is capacitively loaded so as to form a tuned LC circuit . If the primary & secondary coils are resonant at a common frequency, it turns out that significant power may be transmitted between the coils over a wide range of a few times the coil diameters at reasonable efficiency. Resonant energy transfer is
