Evaluating Fiscal Policy Alternatives Simulation ECO 372 November 28, 2011 Matthew Angner A government has a couple of roles the need to enforce in order to ensure that their people and land will be able to support them through any times. One of these roles is to invoke and sustain economic growth. The government can achieve this by trying to manipulate the trends in that particular economy, though fiscal policy. Fiscal policy is changes that are made to government spending or taxes that leads to one of two conclusions. One of these conclusions is that the economy will stimulate because of the changes being made, or the economy will slow down.
1. Reflect and describe which key concepts and topics in this course have made you a stronger candidate to enter the business world. A few important concepts that this course covered are gross income inclusions, gross income exclusions, deductions and losses, and itemized deductions. The ones I believe have made me a stronger citizen in general are employee expenses and deferred compensation, itemized deductions and capital gains and losses. Capital gains and losses are important to understand because it can directly affect and individual or a business adjusted gross income.
The strategic plan will help provide better, more targeted service to its clients and will be more specific on how the company will go about achieving company goals. The strategic plan will help Riordan’s executives understand the company’s direction by reviewing past progress and making changes to improve and grow. The strategic plan is an organizational tool that will help keep Riordan on track to meet growth and financial objectives. Need for a Strategic Plan Successful businesses are effective at identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring every manager has the same goals. For Riordan to further strengthen their strategic plan, they can develop a financial model based on their income and cost assumptions they would anticipate under the plan (Mikrut, 2010).
These manufacturing methods can be replicated by other businesses in the countries and improve their ability to manufacture goods. This improved ability to manufacture within the country and should lead to an increase in the GDP of the country. This will improve the trade and relations between the country and many others. Also in some cases these MNC's will invest in the infrastructure of the country. This will improve the trading process for not only the company, but also the rest of the country.
A portfolio analysis help a company with making decisions on what products that they must considered to be the main focused and which one they should get rid of. The portfolio analysis raises the issue of cash flow availability for use in expansion and growth for products in the organization. The reason organisation needs to control their costs properly would be that it would end up saving money on expenses and increase its revenue. It allows business to focus on customer’s needs and interests. The advantages of primary research are that the information is up to date and it helps answer businesses questions.
Democratizing the Federal Reserve would have some advantages and some disadvantages. One of the benefits would include the ability to vote in a candidate who would have a large responsibility in the nation's finances. Running the Fed is a huge task, and having a say in who would do so would be beneficial to the nation's people. Candidates could run for this "office" and thus, the American people would have more of a say in how our financial decisions are made.
