Why reading is so important According to a study, it reports that Koreans read only one book per month. That’s very serious. There aren’t many people who think reading as time consuming. Most people know that reading is fun and are a lot of help to them, but we all live in such a busy and competitive society that we don’t have that much time to read, and there are so much other fun things to do so people don’t regard reading as so important. But we can’t deny that reading is very beneficial to us in many ways. Reading makes us learn more than just knowledge, to introspect ourselves, and to think deeply. People read for many reasons. It can be just for fun, to get some knowledge from it, because you have to read it for an assignment, or other reasons. But whatever reason you read a book, you learn more than just knowledge. There is wisdom and truth in books. By reading them, you get to learn them and apply them in life. Books are not just to read to simply get knowledge from it. By reading various books, we get to learn how to live, how to get a proper hierarchy of values, and how to live. Reading makes us look into our lives. We get to introspect ourselves. When we read books, we face and share different opinions and thoughts from other people. While reading them, we look into how we live, and how we think differently or same with the author. We realize who we are, what kind of thoughts we have in our mind. By reading books, we get to find out what we’re interested in or not, what kind of person I am, what is important in my life and more. Finally, reading makes us think deeply. Suppose you aren’t used to sharing ideas, or lives in your own world. Then that person would have a very weak thinking scale since they’re not interested in how other people think about such things, but just only there selves.
