Antoninus Pius started ruling by associating with the government. When he ruled the empire was peaceful and prosperous, it was the most pleasing period in the history of the Roman Empire thats why he was known as the "The Excellent Emperor". He ruled from July 138 to March 161 AD. Marcus Aurelius started ruling after the "Excellent Emperor". He was known as the Philosopher,he was taught by the purest and wisest men of his age. For a period of time he ruled with Lucias Verus, then he ruled on his own, but then again he ruled with Commodus.
He was not wrong in that respect, Les is a great man that has led an eventful life. As I approach him at the agreed upon meeting place of my grandfather’s house, I can see the pride he has for his service, he is wearing his dress uniform specifically for this interview. It is decorated with countless medals and ribbons, signifying his commitment to the United States and his family. I imagined Les as being intimidating and withdrawn, but he was neither of those things. Yes, he was tall, towering over me at probably 6’ 3” or 6’ 4”.
Having such intelligence helped him make one of the few successful Utopian societies, New Lanark. Building the once neglected and filthy village into a half-decent place seemed impossible. But Owen was not overwhelmed, in just one decade he made New Lanark into the guide of Utopian society. Owen’s major accomplishment was New Lanark. All the theories he
The back ground and reputation of Rick Blaine is a very cool and self oriented club owner that everyone is enthralled with. His appearance makes him appear and a well put together and cool tempered man. With his suits that aren’t quite the super formal style but at the same time not a slouchy half put together person, and almost always having either a drink or a cigarette in his hand. His demeanor is a very cool self centered person, at the same time he thinks through each and every of his actions know the reactions and outcomes of it, he is smart. He has a dry sense of humor and pokes fun at people very stealthily and they may not notice and neither may you.
“He was a very accomplished American leader, at the end of a generation of leaders who could operate largely on their own". He was still an American Hero but also human. Unlike MacArthur, Dwight D. Eisenhower was liked by many. “I like Ike” was a famous slogan during the Presidency of Dwight Eisenhower. He won the votes of many because he was warm-hearted, friendly and idealistic man.
October 2, 2012 ENC 1101 Lupe Fiasco is in my opinion one of the greatest artist of all time. He is a mainstream rapper with so much profound meaning to his songs. Because of this the untrained ear would just think he’s rapping; I see him as an icon as should everyone else old and young alike. Lupe Fiasco just released a new album called the Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album and it is awesome! His timing couldn’t have been anymore perfect now that Columbus Day is next week.
The American Dream “the widespread belief that, by hard work and individual enterprise, even the most poor and lowly Americans can achieve economic success, a better way of life and enhanced social status in a land of immense opportunity (Watts).” Ragged Dick is really about rising from rags to respectable not rags to riches. I view that Dick is an exceptional character showing that true grit to get what he wants even if its almost out of reach, which shows “The American dream” is something you have to work for. Dick has all the qualities of someone who could achieve his goals with hard work. Dick is a young man who has lived on his own for years, meeting Mr. Whitney changed how Dick viewed people and life. How could a man Dick did not even
Wood also analyzes Obama’s use of references in his election night speech. He discusses how “Behind his speech were the ghosts of Lincoln’s First Inaugural” (610) as well as “the explicit reference to King’s famous phrase about how ‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice’” (611). Both discussions of Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. are included to show how Obama believed his election to be a turning point in history as Lincoln and King’s speeches were a turning point in their time period as well. It was imperative for Safire and Wood to discuss the allusions to others’ speeches in both of their analysis as without the references to others’ speeches both Lincoln and Obama’s speeches would not have had the impact and power that they did. Through the course
The director of Blood Diamond directed this film also. James Newton Howard scored Blood Diamond as well. The director, Edward Zwick, asked James Newton Howard asked him to score Defiance, because he liked how well James Newton Howard scored Blood Diamond. I like this movie score a lot because Defiance is my favorite movie of all time. James Newton Howard made and absolute amazing score for this movie.
Introduction I’ve noticed that all good films have good music. (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Titanic are just a few examples). This makes me wonder, maybe music is what makes a film, not the story or the visual effects. An anonym internet used said so about the music within the cinema. The comment made reference to the song May it Be, by Enya, included in the Original Soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings, and located within the so-called 'new age' (Williams, 2009) in Irish traditional music (ITM).
