More and more Americans and other ex-pats are discovering the Philippines as a beautiful place with white sandy beaches, lush green foliage, and cool crisp mountains. There are hot spring resorts, amazing golf courses and gigantic shopping malls to keep you busy day and night. The best advantage of retiring to the Philippines is the Filipino people. They are very friendly and soft-spoken. This soft-spoken attitude can sometimes be misinterpreted as shyness but when you make a friend with a Filipino you have made a friend for life. And for the widower or single man you will discover that the Filipino women are very beautiful and loyal to their husbands. Many men who go to the Philippines on vacation end up meeting and falling in love. Marrying into a Filipino family is an experience in itself you will instantly become part of a tight knit group of cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws who respect you and treat as one of their own.
