This is because they believe that God created every person the same and we should keep it that way, no matter what crime they have committed, otherwise we could be seen as disobeying God’s wishes. Some Christians may disagree with this quote as they may believe that if someone has not treated society in the correct way they should be treated differently to everyone else. ‘Do unto others as you would have them do to you.’ (Luke- New Testament) This means that you should treat everyone else as you would like to be treated. Therefore some Christians may say that because most criminals have not treated others well they have not followed the Bible and gone against God, meaning they should not be treated the same as everyone else. Other Christians, like Quakers, may agree with this quote as they believe that everyone has equal rights and no one is the leader, this is because God created everyone the same.
It also suggest that more people might strive to do the right things in life so that they get rewarded in the afterlife, this would also cut the crime rates and make people better and more virtuous. Some people struggle to believe that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent as he allows there to be both moral evil and natural evil. If God is all powerful then he should be able to control natural disasters and not allow them to happen, he would also limit the amount of evil people there are in the world and would punish them for it in this life as well as the afterlife. This proves to be the problem for most people in believing in God, as they do not see the point as he does not reward the
Many may believe communicating the Gospel is mainly verbal, although this may have some truth, communicating the gospel through demonstration of love is another effective way to share the Gospel. The point is as messengers, one cannot merely be all talk and no show; we must demonstrate the same love Christ displays to us. It would be arrogant of us to assume communicating the gospel can be accomplished in one or two sessions within the culture, sometimes it will take days, months or even years to effectively communicate in a manner which is pleasurable for all
However some people may disagree with the statement as firstly, there are many other stories in this gospel which show many other important teachings and messages as this one for example the calming of the storm which teaches us that although you may think god is not present or awake he is always with you and whether you live or die you will ultimately be safe with god if you have faith, also the calming of the storm is yet another story which portrays Jesus has power and authority over nature. Secondly there may be more appropriate gospels for others besides that one such as when Christ died for our temptations and sins which proves we are tempted to do things we shouldn’t. Thirdly every story in the gospel has a teaching to it and nobody should follow one more than another as they are all very significant to Christians. , I agree with the statement as Jesus was showing authority over Satan this shows Christians that if we have faith we can overcome temptation as Satan represents temptation in this
DB Forum Module 4 The Gospel Message 1. In our culture the gospel message is often perceived as just another path that leads to God. People often reject the gospel message because they feel like it does not include everyone. Therefore, if everyone cannot be included then the gospel message has to compromise or it may not be accepted. That thought pattern is rooted in sin and rebellion because the gospel message is centered on repentance of sin and accepting Jesus as Lord.
God also has standards for man regarding morality and/or ethics. He gave us the ability to choose, even knowing that we could choose to disregard His guidelines or Commandments. In Exodus 20:6 we are told how to please God. Though we may please God, in Ephesians 2:8-10, we see what we must ultimately do to atone for man’s fall from God. “How a Christian lives their life reveals their spiritual condition” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011, p.65).
That's why I preach my way through entire books of the Bible, dealing carefully with each verse and phrase--even though that occasionally means spending time in passages that don't readily lend themselves to anecdotal or motivational messages. I am grateful to the Lord for the way He has used this exposi- tory approach in our church and in the lives of our radio listeners. But now and then someone tells me frankly that my preaching needs to be less doctrinal and more practical. Practical application is vital. I don't want to minimize its importance.
This is the question absolutes ask before making any decisions. Although many think this theory Has its weaknesses. Many people think that did God write this theory because it is good merely or is it that the thought it would be good to him. Some also say that why should we follow everything God says, that if he said killing people was good, will that mean it was actually good. Also Absolute Laws are always interpreted the wrong way.
Divine Command Theory Divine Command Theory can be described as what are right are whatever God commands, and whatever God forbids is wrong. Being truthful is what some believe that God says is right, but being truthful is the moral think to do (Rachel’s and 50-53). Not, because God says so but, because society says that people must be truthful to be successful and the reach their goals. The advantages to this Theory is that it gives motive to people to be moral which means people are listening to the sayings of God. God faring people accept the teachings of God and the best way to live.
Workplace and marketplace ethics is about knowing and doing what is good or right. For the Christian, this means applying the Bible and other resources of the Christian faith to help decide and do what is ethical or moral at work. New technology is also an ethical issues now a days businesses use new technology to reach goals more easily and more completely than ever before. In some areas, however, such applications of technology start trespassing on the rights of individuals that may be unethical. So, governments and ethically operated companies are aware of these limitations.
