Why Is Education Important

348 Words2 Pages
EDUCATION Education is the overall procedure of wisdom in which the wisdom, skills and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to another. However, there is differential achievement of social groups which is governed by social class, gender, and ethnicity in contemporary society. That is there are various purposes of which people are being educated for which is based on their capability Firstly, I attended all teen-agers’ school which was owned by the government, but later on when I was in 7th a private school, money which we paid was more than a normal tuition fees, although the teaching, the environment and the recognition was good, Private schools are rare and barely recognised but in terms of conductive environment exposure, knowledge and skill they are really good. That’s made me prefer the private school. “Pupils who attend private school are three times more likely to achieve higher grades compared to those in public school”. (Learner, 2012) In view of this, my parents played a vital role in making sure that I get the best out of the school, they got my private tutor to enhance my learning. Finally this topic has enabled me to see the true picture of what “Education” really is and in a modern context. The “hidden “curriculum” was particularly interesting as it is were conditioning of children takes place and according to Chomsky 2002 this is very important for the society to be conditioned to accept the terms of power.
