Being a leader in my band provides me with a sense of pride. Working as a group is a huge challenge, but in the end, it is worth it to put on a spectacular performance. My musical career has helped me become a more confident individual. I have been performing solos and in ensembles since the seventh grade. To be able to achieve a superior rating at these contests, one must practice every week.
I did well in high school and after one year at York, I have completed 29 credits and have a 3.47 G.P.A. I belong to the flying club and perform with York Jazz ensemble. Also, with the help of one of my music professors, I have organized a group of student musicians and we go to nursing homes in Queens to perform old favorite jazz numbers for the senior residents. Seeing the smiles and clapping and singing along by people who are my grandmother’s age makes me feel that I am really helping those people to have a better quality of life. I am a student who is proud to be at York and will continue to contribute to the quality of student life.
Her "shoot for the moon" attitude make me want to work harder and reach for more ambitious goals. Thanks to Ms. Morrow, our Women's and Mixed choirs made it to state level competitions last year. She has given me the guidance to follow my dreams and the power to overcome anything that makes life an obstacle. I also have been given the opportunity to participate in the 2010-2011 All-State Women’s Choir thanks to Ms. Morrow. I will truly miss her after graduating high
So it’s a good idea to have a good grade in orchestra now and through high school. In conclusion, my goals are for the end of freshmen year is being on the honor roll, going to FBLA State, and having a solo in show choir. My goals for the end of graduation day are having my license, getting my diploma, and having five hundred volunteer hours or more. My goals for ten years from now are to be at Mid-State, work at a bank, and to play the violin in collage. I really like my goals and hope to accomplish them, and I hope everyone has goals and wants to accomplish them
Stephanie Chancey Scholarship Essay “The only person that can beat you, is yourself.” My band director, Mr. Rodriguez always tells that to the band because he knows that the band won't easily give up. Band has taught a lot of discipline and has helped me mature throughout the years. I play the flute and my name is Stephanie Chancey. Ever since I was a child I’ve found my self to very meticulous about my grades, my skills, and my contribution to society. I believe that to make your name in this world is to make an impact on society. To be remembered. I have always wanted to be remembered. I feel that in order for success you must follow a certain set of guided ideas.
Objectives and aims are one of the best sources of motivation, as they will keep me focused and enable me to “do whatever it takes” to accomplish my goals. Furthermore, scholarship shall reinforce me, catapulting me to objectives which will inspire me to greater heights, allowing me to reach my true potential. A very positive side-effect of scholarship is that it will drastically increase my perseverance. Without achieving my much longed scholarship, it will be a serious burden for my parents to prop me up with the requisite fees. This will stand as a major impediment that shall falter my steps towards APU, casting me out to the impossibility.
Personally, I believe ambition is a strong desire for distinction and recognition of achievement; doing something that I will always be remembered for even after I leave this world and achieving it. Ambition is a desire or dream of something great in life and working hard to achieve it. Most people have different ambitions in life; so, the word ambition would have a different meaning, depending on whom you ask. Some may want to become extremely wealthy; some may want to achieve great fame; some may want to be a powerful world leader; and some may want to earn tremendous honor. As for me I just want to achieve something that I will always be remembered for, even long after I am dead and gone.
