Recently however the debate has shifted from the classical questions that Marx and Weber were asking over a century ago- How is class defined? What are the elements that make up a social class? Too the question of whether or not class is relevant anymore with regards to the contemporary societies in which we live. The classical approaches of Marx and Weber and their criticisms will be discussed first, and then the theories relating to class of contemporary sociologists Giddens and Bourdieu In order to tackle the question of whether or not classical approaches are relevant to contemporary societies, we need to look at the ideas on class of Marx and Weber. Karl Marx was a late 19th Century thinker.
Each type of planning is individually important, but is more significant to the collective whole. The class discussed the importance of contingency planning in depth, including the idea that contingency planning can be used in several ways. An excellent point made by the team is that planning is useful not only at work but also in our personal lives. . Prose also says that the students are, "...handicapped not merely by how little literature they have read but by their utter inability to read it." The students loathe literature because they have never been taught how to read and comprehend it correctly. Finally, Prose also states that the books taught are, "... taught for reasons that have nothing to do with how well a book is written," and that, "every opportunity to instill adolescents with a lifelong affinity for narrative... is being squandered on regimens of
Joshua Joseph (2000) published data answering this question. Several of the “potential benefits linked to effective ethic training programs include:…Fostering a more satisfying and productive working environment.” Maintaining the trust of members to ensure continued self-regulation…Legitimizing open discussion of ethical issues.” After this introduction, employees will engage in a brainstorming session to share more ideas and give concrete examples about why this training is an integral element of a productive business. Professors want to convey plenty of knowledge to today’s students. It is the duty of teachers to preserve the cultural heritage of the students. Most of our students have no desire to take some of the courses in college, but take them just to fill graduation requirements. Some job schedules make it impossible for them to attend more than thirty percent of classes. These students never have any study time or time to do homework.
But this injures students educationally as well. While the rest of the world references Vietnam in many of today’s situations or debates on whether Iraq is the next Vietnam and other issues, high school students are left out of the loop because their high school textbooks and teachers refuse to teach them what they should learn, what they ought to learn. High school students are hurt the most because of this. While textbook authors and editors are not likely to break away from the template soon, they should at least find a way around the system to provide pictures and information that would give students sufficient knowledge on the topic of Vietnam. That way students would be able to keep up with issues from which parallels to Vietnam are drawn or participate in such

James Loewen, who wrote Lies My Teacher Told Me, brings up concerns for students stating US History lower-learning textbooks are not equipped with factual information. In Loewen’s text he brings to light some very significant US events he believes are not factual. When we think of studying history we think about learning specific dates, events, or wars that impacted our country. Not many people stop to question if the information they are reading or being taught is factual.
