“Navajo religion is highly ritualized. It is formal and precise. Firmly rooted in the Southwestern landscape, it concerns itself with maintaining individual and communal life and health. It's main event is the "chant"--a several day and night ceremony designed to reorder one's relationship with the powers of creation. Families choose to sponsor chants at times of crisis or potential disorder.
Each member of the family plays an important role, allowing them to join together in harmony. The relationships in Navajo society are very strong. Their system is organized in roles and expected role behavior which is used by the whole society. Every role open to man is also open to women leaving little room for economic domination of one partner over the other. The mother is the main provider and authority figure towards the children in the family.

The Powwow ritual is a common ritual in Native Spirituality. This ritual is done to receive a connection with others, to communicate with the physical environment, or to gather with families; done by dancing in a clockwise motion, singing together or meeting with families and friends. Often times, their rituals or ceremonies have a deeper meaning than just dancing. It helps be one with nature or to please friendly spirits (such as the sun, plants, animals, etc…).

Brandon Nitschmann Essay In most Native American literature the land on which they live, their families and their traditions are all big parts in these stories. Such as in Way to Rainy Mountain and Smoke Signals, all three of those are incorporated heavily in the story line. The Native American people were very spiritual and family oriented and concentrated on the bonds and traditions that held their families together. They believed that almost everything on Earth was symbolic of something, the soil on which they lived upon, the crops that were grown, the animals hunted for food, they are all connected. So in the Native American culture there are three main aspects; their land, their families, and their traditions.
Today, the Navajo accepts changes from the past and used it to have a promising future. Acknowledging the importance of education and economic success but keeping the value of Navajo belief of supporting family and community. The African Americans, Chinese Americans, Nigerians, and the Navajo had different challenges and accomplishments in the previous century. They faced many hardships, discriminations, and violence, which helped shape their culture and future. These people had contributed many things not just to America but to the whole world.
Native American Culture and Tradition Native Americans were very spiritual people who believed that herbal remedies, dances and chants would heal the sick and keep you healthy for years to come. Below are several things that pertain to the Native American Culture. Dance Dancing was a very important part in Native American communities. Individuals danced for many events and ceremonies. Marriage ceremony, were usually very fun and many communities in many areas recognized the collect.
Myths show us supernatural events that lead us to understand why we have our world today. They teach us essential lessons about life, and honor the customs and traditions of many Native Americans. Both these tales serve the purpose of helping their Native American communities, and help their people to grow their faith in what they believe. We can all learn the importance of having balance in the world, and fighting for what we want in our lives. They are not just supernatural events, but are the reasons why we have our world

One of their most important beliefs is to preserve their ancestor’s cultures and land. Today, many of the remaining Native Americans still manage to preserve the same culture. Because they were the first ones in America they have influenced Americans in many ways. Their culture has influenced America since the Europeans arrived up until today in the way we speak, the foods we eat, our religious beliefs and even some of our family values and traditions.
