Where to Go on Vacation? Where to Go on Vacation? When considering where to go on vacation, there are many options. However, for the purpose of this paper the two options for vacation are Orlando and Atlanta. The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the location, climate, and types of activities of both possible vacation locations in order for the reader to make an informed decision on where to go for vacation. The city of Orlando will be discussed first. Orlando is a very exciting place. “According to the 2010 US Census, this city had a population of 238,300, making Orlando the 79th largest city in the United States.” (“U.S Census,” 2010). Orlando is a great place to go. The climate in Orlando, Florida is warm and mild year-round. The average temperature is in the 90's and during the cooler winter months, high temperatures average in the 70’s. When planning to go to Orlando be sure to pack a certain type of clothing including bathing suits, shorts, short-sleeve shirts, sandals, sunglasses, and sun screen lotion. There are many attractions to pick from while visiting Orlando: Universal Studios, Wet and Wild, Old Times, sailing, fishing, and beaches in the surrounding city. There are many things to choose from. The second place one could consider for vacation is Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is the state capital and largest city in Georgia. Atlanta has a population of 486,000 (Houghton Mifflin Company 2009). and it is also a great place to vacation. In Atlanta, the temperature varies from month to month. Therefore, one should plan a trip based on whether there is a preference for cold weather or warm weather. The type of clothing that needs to be packed for Atlanta depends on what season that trip is taken. For example, if the vacation is in January warm clothing such as boots, jeans and sweaters should be packed.
