November, Grade 12: Now, where do I go from here When you leave school forever through that gate at the entrance into your car, you realise it, whoopee! Hooray! The pink gush of glee and supreme joy exciting every nerve in your body. You have a whole world to explore and best of all it’s all at your fingertips. After that LAST day of school your mind and body is pretty dam keen to relax, after all, you have just finished 12 years of school, being a teenager and growing physically. So you drop you uniform like it was on fire you put the kettle on, whip open the cookie tin, grab a huge pillow, slap the T.V. on, put your favourite show on and finally, just as your euphoric rear-end hits that couch 1. 2. 3. BAM! It hits you like a bat out of hell! Where the hell do I go from here! Your world is hurled around the room, your brain is flip flapping from left to right, up and down and here then it will just spin in a circle! The questions come flying out of your head for days from then on. As you begin to relax and make some rational decisions you sit down to make a plan, a plan for the future. You need to consider further education to better your chance in getting a job, but you could choose to not follow the sheep of reality and you could join the air force, the pay isn’t bad, you don’t necessarily have to go into battle and you could learn to FLY or If you’re not the type you could go be an apprentice to a skilled person in a field that appeals to you. OR you could scrap all that and just LIVE! Why not just go out and do all the things you want to, like sky-diving, snorkelling, fishing, rowing, sailing, rock climbing, hiking in the snow, travelling or playing music! There is no need to study further, why not just have fun? You just need to cover your costs for basic needs. If you want to live in a big house, well, then you’re just spoilt. But for security of
