in WikiAnswers.com) I am a computer science major and have to deal with logical statements a lot. I have always seen that implementing what is written in the book is sure rite but if I experiment my own ideas I turn out to be a better coder. We were given an assignment last semester about writing a program to search a phonebook for an individual’s phone number. Sure we had an exact same example in the book and surely everyone followed the directions in the book and scored well in the assignment. But I had to implement my own thoughts in the assignment I tried new things and saw how they worked out for me and made a totally different program for what was in the textbook.
I researched so many websites because this became interesting to me. The first website that I was on I really liked what I read. Eclkc.ohs.hhs.gov. Challenging behavior is any behavior that interferes with children’s learning, development, and success at play is harmful to the child, other children, or adults puts a child at high risk for later social problems or school failure (Klass, Guskin, and Thomas; Ritchie and Pohl, 2010). We do not call this behavior challenging because it summons you to a duel or battle but because it is threatening, provocative, and stimulating, all at the same time.
Internet helped William to enjoy studying and to focus. The program Quizlet stimulated all four objectives in learning language writing, reading, speaking and listening, which helped him transfer the material from his short term memory to his long term memory faster. As the data shows, his grades have improved. I also see the possibility of using assistive technology with students who don’t have disabilities to improve their performance. If I can gather more data and experiences, I can present results to the school that can impact school improvement, faculty development and student learning.
unctional skills provide students with the essential knowledge, skills and understanding that will enable them to operate confidently, effectively and independently in life and at work. (Functional Skills Update 2, QCA, December 2005) It is important to embed functional skills into teaching to give your learners underpinning skills. By doing this within the main subject the learning process is made more interesting. Within the teaching of Information Technology, functional skills could be incorporated in activities using word processing packages, spreadsheets, databases, The Internet, electronic quizzes, computer games, video and other forms of multimedia. By designing activities based around computers and technology, Information Technology learners will feel more comfortable and confident completing tasks.
“The young may learn from their elders; and the old may learn from the young. To What extent and how is this true on Moses Aaron’s ‘Elijah Greenface’ and Clint Eastwood’s ‘Gran Torino’? Throughout the ages, it has always been that the young learn from the old through their knowledge and wisdom, but in the modern age this is not always so. This may be because of the technological advance handed to the newer generations, which has highly influenced a new way of living. Now it is the young leading the way, embracing and learning the benefits of the computer age, however the elderly can still guide the young, learning about life values and experiences.
The essay “Why Games Are Good for You” written by Steven Johnson, was written not to say that video games are any better or worse than reading books but simply to clear the misconception that video games are a hindrance to people who play them when it comes to a normal education or learning the social skills people need to live a healthy life, Johnson believes nothing can replace the benefits of reading a book and the written word. However, video games appear to deliver information that would bore the average student in a way that entices them to learn more and keeps them interested in something ordinarily dull. Johnson believes it is because games give people visual rewards for our time spent that books or other forms of media aren’t able to deliver. For example, in certain games such as “SimCity” a user is encouraged to build a thriving metropolis, which teaches about taxes, population, economics and other subjects that must be considered in order to be progressive in the game. Video games require the player to memorize the information they take in, use their cognitive skills to solve a puzzle in the game or use their sensory skills to complete a task in addition to other benefits that haven’t been mentioned.
Corey Taylor’s, Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good would make a good book for Cecil College freshmen to read as a summer reading project. This book would be a good choice for students to read for several reasons. This is a bold, nonfiction book written by a famous singer that has some humor to it and will also teach students to follow what they are good at to be successful in life. Several authors, psychologists and teachers have written related sources that support these reasons. Corey Taylor’s book talks about the “seven deadly sins” and how he has committed all of these sins in his life.
I always liked electronics since a young age, I enjoyed breaking my electronics, my video games, my toys apart and trying to understand how they worked and then trying to put them back together again. I must admit that I was not always successful but I learned a lot from my experiences. Then, as I grew up, I studied physics and got more insight into transistors, resistors and conductors, my curiosity grew stronger as well. My goal is to design devices that will help and make people life a little easier. For this, I know California University of Pennsylvania is the best choice for
The study had the participants answer research questions to see their reactions to a blended learning atmosphere and what effects the blended learning environment had on their L2 writing skills. The research showed that the students found the model sufficient, valuable, flexible, inspiring, satisfying, pleasing, and useful. It was received in a positive manner. The blended learning model allowed opportunities for more student interaction with their classmates and teacher which helped the participants gain higher test scores throughout the course. The article is an academic journal that is supported by facts and has been peer reviewed.
It has been a huge struggle for me this term and I am hoping I pass the class as well as my psychology class. I have learned a great deal about effective writing. Although, I do wish I could catch onto APA formatting a lot better. I have tried youtube videos and looking at other pages about it and I am having a difficult time catching on. I did enjoy everything I learned on peer reviews and how effective those can be.
