What Motivates Me to Learn

What motivates me to learn? To begin, I am definitely motivated to learn by my family and the people around me that care about me and how I “end up” per-say. To be the person that I thought I would be when I was a child is also very motivating for me. When it comes to comparing me to Sara, Chris, Fred or Jamie, Well I am pretty sure I am more like Chris. “I want to do this myself, accomplish important goals” I want to see the whole light at the end of the tunnel not just a sparkle of light. I know that I have a very long road ahead of me but I know that I will get there. I have realist goals that I have set for myself one class at a time. When the time comes that I have a few setbacks, I won’t worry that I cannot finish or I won’t come back to finish school, because I will. It may not take only twenty- two months to complete, but I will finish. Being committed to completing school and accomplishing my goal of being a social worker for abused kids would be the ultimate prize for me. Personal context learning motivates me in several different ways. My family being proud and having respect for me are very important, but, it’s more about self-motivation and self-worth. If you don’t believe in yourself and care about the outcome, or should I say “the light at the end of the tunnel that is just a sparkle right now”, no one else will. It has to be you, if not you, then the personal context learning really doesn’t apply. It has to be about you or should I say me. I know there will be “tests” or trials and tribulation against my commitments, but if I stay true to myself and stick to the grind then at the end of the day I will have accomplished what I set out to do. Everyone will be proud and so will I that I did
