What marketing strategies that McDonald’s use to compete with Burger king in the fast food industry? (DRAFT) Graph and chart!!!!!!! ABSTRACT McDonald’s and Burger King are two of the direct competitors in the fast food industry as they are in hamburger based. McDonald’s is the leader of the fast food industry while Burger King is the second largest hamburger restaurant chain. In this report, we focused on these two fast food restaurant to find out the marketing strategies used by McDonald’s to compete with Burger King to maintain its position in the fast food industry. We have made comparison on both McDonald’s and Burger King on their own marketing strategies to determine how they can survive in the fast food industry with the intense in the number of competitors. Due to that, we had made comparison on the branding, products, location and market coverage, promotions and prices. In order to find out more information, we have conducted a survey with 20 students in Tunku Abdul Rahman College who are aged between 18 to 24. When we are distributing the survey forms, at the same time, we have also communicated with the students by asking some relevant questions, comments, and opinions to get more additional information for our report. Based on the research, we can see that most of the students are prefer with McDonald’s marketing strategies which have provided them a standard of quality and services. Basically, the reasons that they have chosen McDonald’s rather than Burger King is because of the affordable price, attractive promotions and advertises, convenience of the outlets, and so on. Although Burger King charges a higher price, but it can be explained as a different path used by Burger King to show its ‘value’ for the consumers.
