An effective servant leader comes from the heart, which is the most significant for the servant leader and also the place to start in the four domains. It is all about the motivation of yourself, what do you want to do with your business. When individuals without the motivation, they would not have the enthusiasm to achieve their goal. The author emphasized the motivation of service is the essential step to servant leadership (Blanchard, Hodges, 2005, p.39). In addition, the author presented the two definitions in the Heart, which are “Edging God Out”, driven by pride and fear seeing self above all, and “Exalting God Only”, seeing God first contains humility and confidence (p. 40).
Lewis then goes on to say that we cannot simply do it on our own strength but to go to God for our strength. I feel like this plays a huge part in our society. With everyone around us telling us that men always think this way we feel like there is no way around it and that it is natural. But when we start saying that we don’t always think like that I think strength will come from that and we can overcome
For example, a good leader isn't only strong physically, but is also strong mentally, and has to be prepared to take on any force and be able to diminish it. I think that there are three main qualities that really build a leader to make him strong and successful. Being compassionate, being open minded and having a passion. One of the main aspects of being a good leader is to have compassion. Compassion is a deep feeling of sympathy and sorrow for others who are stricken by misfortune, and accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.
However, he also realized that he alone could not drive these results, but that the team must come together and lead themselves to victory since “leadership is a team effort” (Kouzes & Posner, 2008). Drucker says an effective leader with “good human relations” is more than just having a “talent for people,” but rather is more a focus on the contribution on one’s own work and in one’s relationships with others (2006). Coach Dale focused a great deal of energy on his coaching strategies, but also his relationships with his team players and external supporters such as Shooter. Therefore, according to Drucker’s definition of “good human relations,” Coach Dale embodies another critical aspect of leadership. Collins also states that “good-to-great” organizations choose the “who” first and then focus on the “what” secondary (2001).
I also believe that to value Love is very important to my life. If you don’t love yourself, love what you’re doing; love your family, etc. It will make things a little harder for any person. HOW WILL YOUR GUIDING STATEMENT HELP… If you have a disagreement with you supervisor as work. I believe my guiding statement will definitely help me if I were to have a disagreement with my supervisor at work.
Effective missionaries are lifelong learners of culture, working to understand where their people currently are so they can lead them to a true, yet truly enculturated, understanding of the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. They understand that the core of the Good News can come wrapped in different packages and expressions. That is all to say, this book by Reggie McNeal resonates with my passion for people with a missional faith. That we should be more missional. To survive as a church in this modern western world, we need a huge paradigm shift of being missional.
Leadership …power … influence … path-builder … director … it can defined in many ways, but a Leader is person who influences the thoughts and behaviors of others; a leaders is one who establishes the direction for others to willingly follow. A person may be appointed as leader or may be elected by people within his circle. Leaders can influence other to perform beyond the expectations. An effective leader generally values people, listen actively, gives credit to others, have consistent behaviors, admits mistakes, have a sense of humor and above all they set a good example for their followers. Malcolm X influenced people to achieve equality for themselves and throughout his speeches he admits his mistakes.
While I understand the views of both men, I believe that Machiavelli’s perspective is more prevalent and useful in the world today. Machiavelli rights that a leader needs to show his prowess and confidence in his decisions which helps make people want to follow the leader. He writes with a more realistic but cynical point of view. Lao Tzu writes from the side that all humans are inherently good. Lao Tzu trusts all people to do the right thing and says not to force any expectations into people as that will cause them only to backlash.
They all have different views of how they may affect society and other individuals around them but their end goal is the same. Source one and source three both believe men must take direct action In order to do so but source three believes that man often rushes into helping with the wrong solution, whilst source one believes the right answer just comes to mankind because of our original good nature and we do what we can to ease their suffering. Both of these sources are contradicted by source two. Even though the man in source two’s intention is to help out the world he is doing it an, an opposite way that source one and two would agree with. He decided that not taking any action is the best action.
A great leader must have great confidence in what he believes. He must be able to motivate and encourage others. An effective leader is a leader that works with their people, one who is able to reach his employees, or followers on a base level that creates a positive relationship that would enhance working together. Is Accountable. When something goes wrong great leaders step up and acknowledge their part in it and don't fall into the trap of trying to shift blame elsewhere. They'll focus on fixing the problem not fixing blame 2.
