What is wrong with racism? Is preferential affirmative action for the black people morally justified? Racism is a kind of discrimination that on the basis of race, it consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. It involves not only making distinctions and grouping people, but also denigrating and discarding people of certain race. Racism is wrong. As racists make false judgments about or look down people base on their race. It violates the principle of equality, the principle requires all people should be treated and respected as equals, also they should have equal status and opportunity. There should be no interior race and superior race. Apart, race is a kind of natural occurrence rather than a socially created feature. When a human is born, he or she does not have right to choose his or her race. So that, all people should be treated and respected equally. Opportunities offered to people should be based on equality of opportunity, and there should be nothing that is offered or denied to people because of their race. Even in workplace, it also requires equality of opportunity. It requires equal opportunity for all people with relevant skills and abilities to do the job. Everyone who has relevant qualifications and skills should be given equal opportunity. No one should be discriminated because of racial background. However, in US, the African Americans are being discriminated. According an article ‘ Why is the Black Unemployment rate so high?’ of The Atlantic, the research found that the unemployment rate of the Black and White in May 2014 have a great gap. The unemployment rate for white Americans was 5.4 percent while the black Americans was more than twice that, at 11.5 percent. A large reason that caused this huge unemployment gap is job market discrimination. This shows that
