The downplaying of racism may be a consequence of an incorrect understanding of the former’s relation to race. It may have been assumed that race was the primary phenomenon, and racism a secondary effect occurring subsequently.
[CU1517.1] Understand the importance of equality and inclusion 1.1a - What is meant by DIVERSITY Diversity means: Different Individuals Valuing Eachother Regardless of Skin Intellect Talents or Years Diversity can be differences in race, heritage, customs, belief systems, physical appearance, mental capabilities, etc. Diversity should be respected and valued because nobody is completely the same as anyone else, even within the cateories above. People tend to reject what is different. Our difference/diverisities can lead to growth as a society or can lead to violence and hatred. Everyone in the workplace is treated equally.
This type of policy should be in all places of work not just because the law says that there should be one. The aim of equality is to it to make sure that everyone is treated equally in access to work, pay and conditions. For example, two care workers that work in the same field and do the same amount of work. One out of the two should not be getting paid more or less money. This also applies to race; none of the employees should be getting paid more or less because of race or culture.
Formally, racial categories appeared to be biological which contrast with the view of the current generation that impact the social status of the society. The ethical race connections that exist among people appear to be mutually exclusive. However, the situation may be overlapping without notice. This brings in the idea of invisibility of race within the community. People tend to assume the existence of race as an inferior fact yet it exists as a major problem within the community.
Everyone in a way might commit a racist act, but they tend not to realize it. As you can see, affirmative action is a thought put into our minds by our society, making every other person a suspect of racism in a way. Racism refuses to see different beliefs, and understandings in the capabilities of people. It can be applied to any ethnicity other than one’s own. It doesn’t matter if the color of the person is black, white, etc.
culture; race; religion; gender; age; abilities and disabilities; sexual orientation and social class; perceiving people as a certain type according to how they dress or behave. I believe that the Indian Act should be abolished. I believe this because no one should be discriminated because of their colour, race, or beliefs. It is unfair to put the First Nations people on a reserve, just so that you can own the remaining land. It is also unfair to change peoples’ beliefs just because they are not like everyone else. Everyone should be treated as equals but that’s not the case with Indians, , because no one person is better than another.
The separation of black and white based on skin color is unfair and unjust. Unfair separation causes animosity and hate between the two races. We are not separate but equal, rather we are separate but
“This is racism, a definition for racism would be treating a person on, the basis of his or her race first, rather than as a person.” (Martin, 1990) The refugee crisis is a prime example of people’s social identity being influenced by racial status. This issue is an ongoing problem that might never be resolved if society continues to fail on trusting people based on their race. Innocent refugees not able to settle in countries because society has deemed them insignificant and inferior to their own safety, this is evidence that things need to change in relation to the way in which we view
What is your race? Have you ever been suspected of committing such a wrong doing, thinking, just because of your race? Don’t we hate it when others judge us based on our looks? It is offensive for us because they have made assumptions based on our physical appearance and those assumptions could, or most likely, be wrong. Physical appearance is not enough justification or evidence for others to think of who we may be.
